You are just like my Lawyer baby brother...he is just as elitist and obtuse as you are...but I love him. His problem is the same, he is obviously uber intelligent, but it is like he just can not, because he will not understand some things.

Good, fair, responsible, and truthful journalists who report facts are very respectful when asking a question and remain quiet when their question is being answered. Not continuously interrupting and trying to talk over the President. The far left MSM so-called "journalists" do this every time they ask a question. They hate Trump and will do or say anything to stop him. Fair, honest and most importantly factual journalism is almost dead.

I can honestly say I’ve never been called an elitist lol. You’re on quite a roll tonight with the name calling. It’s kind of funny, because I haven’t called anyone anything. I just have a differing view and thought I expressed it rather diplomatically. I suppose that isn’t welcome here. Lesson learned. Now back to the Vols

That’s fair. I never disputed that the media have slanted views. I definitely don’t disagree with you that much of the media is left-leaning. I’d be crazy to argue otherwise (although I’ve already been told I’m dumb, elitist and obtuse so maybe I should see how many other things I can be called tonight lol. I’m on a hot streak I guess).

McGill can't help himself. He's a good guy, and we generally agree on quite a bit, but his first reaction is normally overreaction.

As far as MSM, I agree, the majority leans left. And CNN has as much of a vendetta against Trump as Trump has against MSM. The biggest problem is true journalism is dead. Today's "news" is all about presenting a narrative that shapes their views instead of presenting the facts and letting people come to their own conclusions. And yes, FOX engages in the same behavior. It's not just one side. The "news" has been transformed into party propaganda in many cases. At least IMO.

I posted this in the rf thread but I didn't realize or know til last night that the idiot in charge of the WHO isn't and has never been any kind of doctor. Why would that organization even consider putting someone in charge of it who isn't? What a complete farce they have become.

Where's the fallacy? She's not saying "the government will at some point come for our liberties so there can be no debate on gun control."

She is saying 'If you don't trust the government to try to erode your liberties either now or some point in the future, then there can be no debate on gun control."

If you do trust the government and don't believe it will come for your liberties then obviously her statement doesn't apply to you.

So her statement only applies to those of use who absolutely do not trust the government, and do believe it will attempt to erode our liberties when it sees opportunities...like in the middle of a crisis. To us, any talk of gun control is just a step towards allowing the government to further erode liberties guaranteed to us, so we are not interested in any debate over gun control.

So from my perspective her statement is very accurate.
