Invol is mad, thinks I’m not a faithful Christian, that I’m selfish, and don’t care about anyone else because I don’t wear a mask every time I leave my house 🤷‍♂️
No as usual you freak out at everything. I'm not mad at all. I'm extremely disappointed in you. You have absolutely no consideration for others. And for no reason. I've asked you several times and you refuse to answer. Your lack of an answer speaks volumes. And wearing a mask in places where people are vulnerable is 100% the Christian thing to do.

I've not read everything so not sure if I am understanding. Is the argument basically the ones that think the virus is really bad so everyone wear masks vs. the ones that don't think the virus is as bad as being reported so there's no need to wear masks? And this has turned into a you want people to die? I am confused.
It is some thinking only about themselves vs realizing it is about a basic concern for other human beings.

It seems like a simple ethical principle to reduce harm to others via a minimal effort. Like stopping at stop signs and not driving 100 mph everywhere. We all have to go out. Let's take reasonable precautions for others.

It's not about wearing a seatbelt for yourself, it is about not running into others.

And you don't wear it because you don't believe the same things he believes about the virus and the statistics that are being reported. But since he does believe those then he is naturally upset because he is worried about parents. If you did believe those and were intentionally trying to harm others those conclusions could be drawn.

The fact is, this thing is extremely mild. You can’t trust the death numbers because so many people are being counted as covid deaths when they aren’t covid deaths. That is an indisputable fact. As Volatil said, Bama fans have gotten hold of the mortality rate of covid.

Further, of those who are dying, majority are over 85 years old, many of whom are already in nursing homes. Not people I encounter very often. To nearly everyone else on the planet, this virus is harmless. This is not the Black Plague people.

When I go to the store and I see an elderly person, I avoid them. I go down a different aisle. I don’t walk beside them. I go out of my way to give them space. But I feel no need to wear a mask around when the majority of people I interact with through the week are people my age who are practicing social distancing. How unchristian of me 🙄

Bass seems to respond with concerns for himself (if you go back in the discussion between them). Invol is saying it is not about him, but spreading it to others.

So it is proven that it will stop it? I wear mine hoping it works but not sure. My doctor said it would "help." That didn't give me the warm fuzzies.

Yes, it has been established. Everyone who doesn’t wear a mask every day for the rest of their lives are selfish and only care about themselves.

How many people do you know that have had it?

No that's not it at all. It's about common courtesy. It's about not spreading your germs to those that could be vulnerable. It's about making a small sacrifice to help others. Some don't see it that way. They can't even answer why.
But then they're just going to say we will always have germs. (I hear this with the flu every year.) And if they think it is not as bad as being reported then why bother. This is near to my heart because I am a germaphobe because of low immune system, and family has kept me at home since Christmas. I understand where you are coming from with your family. But unless people who know they have it or know they were exposed are running around trying to give it to others... I just don't want to think they are bottom of the barrel humans. I adore you and Bass both and hate the serious arguing. (Please get us some football to talk about.)

Yeah, I don't think you are being irresponsible. This is what my husband does also. He is concerned about bringing it home to me, but he goes out of his way in stores not to interact with anyone for their sake and mine.

I understand where they are both coming from. I don't think Bass thinks he is causing harm because he is not getting near them. He doesn't even think it is that bad. InVOL, on the other hand, thinks it is really bad so do everything just in case it helps.

Problem is for some it is mild with little to no symptoms. You can be a carrier and contagious and chalk it up to allergies or whatever. You go to the store and you sneeze or cough. You spread virus over about a 10' radius. You happen to be in the produce aisle. The virus lands on various produce items. The little lady from down the street buys some of the produce as does the diabetic from your son's school. You end up infecting 20-30 others. Sure many will survive with again, little to no symptoms but the two that have underlying conditions end up on respirators.

It's about common courtesy. It's about a tiny sacrifice.

I've asked bass 10 times a simple question:

1 you don't think wearing a mask is effective at limiting the spread of germs
2. You don't care whether you spread your germs to others.
3. You are making some kind of rebellious stand.

Never got an answer.

The reason Christianity came in.is I asked him WWJD? He never answered that either. I think he knows he's just to stubborn to answer.

Everyone is entitled to do and say what they want. I will continue to wear a mask when I go to the store. Not to protect myself but to potentially protect others, most of which I don't have a clue who they are and will probably never see again. I won't apologize for that.

I have two friends , one of which was minutes from being placed on a ventilator. I'd venture to guess both would say it's much worse than the flu.
I know several. They said it was awful like a really bad flu that lasted longer. I don't want it or the flu and don't want anyone to get it. But most of the people I know are not convinced that masks are going to make that much of a difference. I don't think they are being selfish. They're just not convinced. I wear mine and stay away from people and wash everything.

I don't think they are effective at keeping you from getting it but I do believe they help contain the spread. Even if there is a small chance that it limits the spread I think it's worth the tiny sacrifice to wear them. But that's me. Obviously Bass doesn't want the inconvenience of wearing one. It's too much trouble.
