Why is CNN pushing a fake narrative about Texas? I’d really like to know. Are they dumb and don’t get it? Or are they purposefully reporting false info, and if so, for what reason?Man it’s getting awfully Alex Jonesy up in here. With that, I bid this thread adieu

Michael Flynn was a “conspiracy theory” until it wasn’t. If you don’t think there is an agenda at play here I don’t know what to tell you. Just believe everything, don’t question itCracks me up when people never question anything leftists do or say, yet, anything else to the contrary is a conspiracy. Fortunately many people in America and around the world are waking up.
Communists and fascists all started with selling lies as truth.

I don’t go to bars, but restaurants are open at partial capacity. Same thing about the zoo. Indoor exhibits were closed, outdoor exhibits were all open but had boxes 6 feet apart where you were supposed to stand to look at the animals.Been meaning to ask you what it's like there. What about restaurants and bars? Are they full or partial capacity, or still takeout only?
Yep, go to the Texas site on COVID-19 and if you run the data it looks like testing is up by about 40% in the past 14 days. Folks you have to remember that "figures never lie , but liars can figure"Ask yourselves. Why would CNN purposefully lie about this? Why do they want us to believe that Texas opening up has led to more cases? That’s a lie and they Know it.
Can't wait to get back to some good restautants and breweries around us, even if it is very low capacity or outdoor seating. Tired of takeout. Just want to take a seat and relax.I don’t go to bars, but restaurants are open at partial capacity. Same thing about the zoo. Same. It’s still a little weird. Went to a steakhouse last Sunday and it feels weird with all the staff wearing masks. But was still better than only takeoutCan't wait to get back to some good restautants and breweries around us, even if it is very low capacity or outdoor seating. Tired of takeout. Not fair to say "everything" but that is how we feel at times. Tough to get a bad meal here tbh. Lots of tourism and top notch local chefs breeds tough competition and bad restaurants don't last here very long.Family has been talking about going to Asheville when everything opens up. Any suggestions?
Not the bar scene. Got a 4 (almost 5) year old. We're going to go to the zoo near Biltmore. So something around there or downtownNot fair to say "everything" but that is how we feel at times. To narrow it down, what are you looking for? Or, in a different way, what are you not looking for?
Sorry for the Jake post, but here goes. Not the bar scene. Got a 4 (almost 5) year old. We're going to go to the zoo near Biltmore. So something around there or downtown
It's a little different going to the zoo than going to a store especially grocery stores. People don't have to go to the zoo but they have to eat. At least the employees at the zoo had some courtesy instead of your attitude of screw everyone else.Lol! I did not wear a mask. In fact, I counted less than 15 people out of over a hundred patrons I’d guess wearing masks (except for staff who all had one on). Bunch of immoral folks at the zoo.
Devo182 … I was in Ashville several years ago for an FDA conference. Some local folks took us out to the family style restaurant. The building kind of looked like an old Stucky's about 10-15 minutes from the airport. Would you happen to know the name of this place? Really Good home style food. Not fair to say "everything" but that is how we feel at times. Tough to get a bad meal here tbh. Which one is your visit Asheville blog? JK thanks for the info. It'll make planning much easier.Sorry for the Jake post, but here goes.
Btw not familiar with a zoo near the Biltmore. Sounds like a scamjk I know there is one East of town out past the mall.Btw all breweries are surprisingly kid and dog friendly, just in case.
Depends where you're staying or want to go (and want to spend). If you're by the Biltmore, the Red Stag (in the Bohemiam Hotel) is extremely well regarded, but pricey. Biltmore Village has a nice Mexican restaurant (Cantina). If you want to venture 5 minutes from the Biltmore and up into downtown, you'll have a lot more food options. I'm downtown, so this is mostly what I'm more familiar with.
I'll just go out on a limb and hope you like burgers. Our top burger place is Rankin Vault (pay extra for the HNG (Hickory Nut Gap Farms) meat here or anywhere else is town). Rated best burger in town multiple times. 2nd is Wicked Weed imo. 3rd is Brahmari. Actually, everything at Brahmari is really good. Across the street from them is Storm, who has won best burger in town in the past. I have yet to go there, so I can't vouch. There is also a new burger and whiskey place down the street called H&F Burgers. Think it's a chain. BurgerWorx is supposed to be good too, but haven't tried.
Pizza? Manicomio's is THE place to go. Nice location in heart of downtown with a patio. Real NY pizza. The owner used to live in a building. He's pretty wild, but slings the best pies in town.
Middle eastern - Jerusalem Cafe is our go-to spot.
MEAT - there is a Brazilian steakhouse downtown if you want meat on meat on meat. There is also Cultura, a new place from Wicked Weed. It is beside their sours brewery, Funkatorium. It is like a mix of primal meats and fondue. You even get CBD cotton candy for dessert
Vegetarian/vegan - plenty of options. We don't go there.
Indian/Asian - Blue Dream Curry house is the nuts for curry and breads. Red Dim Sum imo is the best place for asian (not hibachi).
Mexican - these are out of downtown, but look for Papa's and Beer or Mama's and Beer. Same people. AWESOME Mexican. My visiting relatives always want to go back.
Oh and you'll get advice from most outsiders to go to this place called Curate. They must do really good marketing. Almost impossible to get a seat there, it is just tapas (small plates), cramped, and while good, I wouldn't say worth the hassle when good options are everywhere. Not quite a tourist trap, but not worth the hype either if only here for a day or two.
If looking for other things for the kids, I might suggest the Children's Science Museum downtown, the Mountain Play Lodge, or even the Kolo Bike Park. Idk when the Tourists (or minor league team) might play again, but that is another kid friendly option and is right downtown. Don't have kids, so don't have much else except there are lots of outdoor stuff around here.
Would also check out a roof top while here. There are 4 or 5 now, but 2 are easily the best with great views and I'm sure the kid would like seeing all the mountains from high up. First is at the AC hotel. Probably the highest and nicest. Views of downtown and some close mountains.

2nd is at the Cambria hotel and has a Cuban restaurant as part of it. Faces more towards the farther off Blue Ridge tops, which can be pretty great at sunset
