Caught up with an old friend today that is a gun dealer. Interesting discussion with him about the election.

He said, strictly for his business, he wants the democrats to win the election.

At first I thought he had lost him mind but after explaining it made sense.

Democrats are great for him sales.

You guys agree?

The joke is every time a democrat speaks on gun control, sales triple.

IMO the only way trump is going to be defeated is if Rubio or Cruz takes one for the sake of our country and drops out pretty soon.

If all 3 stay in trump wins fairly easily IMO

I was talking with a friend and he said something similar the other day. That right now there are too many candidates fighting for the 2nd tier place behind Trump and basically beating each other. And then you have someone like Christie go after Rubio while Trump stands to the side probably laughing on the inside.

Trump will make America great again. I can vote for anyone self-funding their campaign.

This mindset is problematic. America is great and there is no one man that will make this country great again. We are there, the greatest bastion of the light and hope of freedom that this world has ever seen. Stop with the loser mentality.

Trump is an Obama clone, in that he will say whatever to whomever to get himself elected. He is a clown and an embarrassment. If he was anything other than a celebrity everyone would be laughing at him and his ridiculousness. We need a man of integrity in the office. Someone who will lead in an honorable way, that person is in no way, shape or form Donald Trump.

I won't vote for trump. I am a through and through true conservative. I don't think he is. So he doesn't rep my values. And I don't trust him.

And I'm not playing the "he's better than the alternative" game this time around. I'm sick of that. If people want trump beaten, we need to do it now, in the primary. I'm personally not selling out and voting for him in the general

I'm voting independent if it comes to that. Will not vote for Trump or Hillary/Bernie with a gun to my head.

Yeah I obviously won't vote for the socialist party either. They for sure don't represent my values.

I'll have to go either 3rd party or write-in. Any of you people wanna ask for my vote ? Ha.

Sigh....
It's just sad. We have someone in Cruz who will go strictly by the constitution and by the values and policies that have been proven to be effective.

And he has proven that he is not the typical politician. Because he will say and do the hard, unpopular things when he believes in it (phasing out ethanol subsidies in Iowa, for example...and he still won)

And yet, people are going for trump who has either reversed his stance (or so he says) on a lot of issues....or he hasn't reversed his stance and even verbally repeats it, but people just stick their head in the sand when it comes to those.

Its definitely going to be a case of who is the lesser evil... but I'm not voting for a criminal or a communist. Trump it is if need be.

Well you may as well not vote. No independent candidate has a chance. You are actually casting a vote towards the dems when you do that. I understand your frustration with Trump. I share it. But if the dems get in again, it will take decades to recover.

I have had multiple people tell me that. Haha. And I know that's a stance a lot of people take. And I can understand feeling that way, for sure. And have felt that way in the past myself. But now I personally disagree with that line of thought. And I know there are others who disagree with it, too.

It's my vote. And I only have one (since I don't live in Chicago. Haha) to cast as my voice in how I want the nation to go, ya know?

And so Speaking for myself, I am not voting AGAINST someone and their platform. I'm voting FOR someone and what they stand for.

And I feel like I will have given my approval and support to whomever I cast my vote for, and given my approval to their beliefs and stances. And I just don't trust that Trump will govern, appoint judges, behave, and uphold constitutional and moral principles in a way that I would condone.

Especially with the supreme court appointees. So I think it would bother me and my conscience if I vote for him. And if he appoints pro-choice judges, which I personally feel pretty confident he would based on his history and even on recent statements, would my hands not be tainted with some of that innocent blood if i would have voted for him? There are people that don't see it that way, of course. But I think I would feel that way. So I don't want to risk it for myself.

Also it's not just abortion/religious stuff. It's health care, eminent domain, taxes. I don't think Trump is a true conservative on a lot of issues. Even on his keynote issue of immigration: His current stance is a flip flop from just four years ago. How and why would voters trust him and what he says now?

I know some would say "well he's better than the alternative"...well, one, maybe so, but I'm personally not 100% convinced that that is true with Trump. And two, as I said, I am choosing to cast my vote FOR someone, not against.

And please please please don't think my tone or anything is bad or mean or unchristian in stating any of this. That's a downfall of digital communication, and one reason why I usually don't like to make political posts on something like Facebook. I don't want to offend anyone or cause harm to the cause of Christ. I hope I haven't done that. And I don't think I have in posting this. Just posting some of my thoughts on this.

But anyway, wherever you fall on the 3rd party or not.....we actually have a good choice right now, with the primary. So let's nominate someone who we can all vote for. I love Cruz personally. But I could vote for Rubio too, with his strong stance on pro-life.

I agree with everything you say. I don't trust Trump and I'm embarrassed for our country that he's made it this far. I just look at the alternative and think about what will probably occur. With the dems you know what you're going to get, with Trump you would at least have hope.

Then maybe the Republican party should get behind someone who represents what the people actually want. Look at the people that have ran, Romney, McCain, and Trump. These men's ideologies do not match with the truly conservative voters. If they enjoy losing they should continue to push for these RINO's.

I can definitely understand people having that line of thought.

Do you think not voting for Trump helps or hurts this country? Do you think the alternative will make this country more conservative?

Voting, whether it for your "chosen person" or not, is always better than being complacent or apathetic.

Trust me, I'm very far from being complacent.

But I'm also not gonna give my approval to someone who will end up being, I think, a big-government, pro-choice liberal in trump.

I'm also not 100% convinced trump would be better in the long run. I do think if Bernie is elected, that could be the end of our country, too, of course. I don't want him at all. I think the same might could be said for trump, too, though. I don't know. But anyways, I'm not gonna sell my personal values and vote for trump.

Anyways, it won't really matter in TN. The republican will win. So I'm not sure why people would get so upset about me and ziti going 3rd party. Haha

Anyone find it interesting that the 4 major players will actually get anything done in DC if elected? Trump, Cruz, Hilary, Bernie.

Trump- bigoted, self loathing billionaire, racist a**hole who just wants power. Doesn't care what's best for the people.

Cruz- this country doesn't need a cynical, lying, fear mongering pastor. He's hated by everyone, especially his own party.

Hilary- it seems pretty much everyone hates her, too.

Bernie- this country has never had a leftist like this in office and what could be actually accomplished.

But people are voting for the outlandish Trump and Bernie is making a strong push. This direction is going in the opposite direction of what typically stands in DC. It seems people want a massive change from the norm. Whomever gets elected, it will probably send congress into a frenzy. Don't have a lot of faith that those candidates can actually get anything accomplished. This is an extremely bizarre presidential election. From now till November feels like uncharted territory.

Sorry, I didn't see where you said you would vote 3rd party. My point was you need to go vote, regardless. Complacent and apathetic voters are part of the reason we are where we are at today. However, if you feel that a 3rd party vote is in your best interest as a voter, then so be it. Every vote counts!

No worries.

No matter what happens, I'm gonna have to trust that God is in control

I was wondering if you would show up, sir. Haha.

Can you tell my why you labeled Cruz as "lying"?

Also, the ones in his own party hate him because he calls them out and stands against them because they are weak and don't live up to their promises they campaigned on.

People want something different. Someone who will actually do what the say. Cruz has proven himself. Even when it's unpopular.

Now if your beliefs don't line up with his that's one thing, of course. It's your choice and your vote. But calling him names and a liar? Seems inappropriate

Also it's telling that you labeled Cruz a liar but didn't mention lying/liar/dishonest/etc when talking about hilary.

She has been straight-up caught in hers. After her scandals, I don't see how anyone could trust her. But most democrats will ignore it all and vote for her anyways.
