I'm trying to refrain from watching anything GOT until after the next book comes out. I would rather read what happens next, instead of watching. I have watched only season one and have really enjoyed reading all the books. Great series.

It's getting to be late and getting closer to the threshold of no return for a trump nomination. Cruz could have a shot at salvaging it if it were a true two man race. Cruz might could have a shot at FL next week if Rubio would step aside. He's young anyway. He needs to save face and hope for a future run.

Finally! I've been waiting for someone to say this for at least twenty pages. I don't get how people are not saying...screaming...this more often.

The two parties don't give a ______ about voters anymore. That's plenty obvious from this candidate pool. They realize that if people will vote for imbeciles like trump and bernie, they'll keep running idiots out there. Take back your country! Vote out the two parties! /rant sorry, that's been bottled up a bit inside me.

2016 elections = crossroads for the USA. We can wish for better representation, vote 3rd party, not vote at all - whatever. Those decisions net zero change, only more of the same, which causes the existing situation to become even more ingrained in the psyche of America.

Obama changed the country in the direction he and his "advisors" (Ayers, Wright, etc.) wanted it to go. His hope and change is in place, so anybody that voted for him in either of the two elections should be very happy. I am not a Rubio backer, but he is right about that issue. Obama knows full well what he has done and is quite proud of it.

So if it exists, a majority of American voters need to stop grumbling and whining about how things are and take charge if they want it to change. Politics, like life in many respects, involves the pendulum. The voters can push it back the other direction this year if enough show up at the polls and the GOP does not blow itself up. Hillary has already said she will continue more of the same. The Congress should remain in GOP control. So we will get more executive orders and complete gridlock on the Congressional level. If she gets indicted, the libs will continue with the socialist or trot a Biden/Warren ticket up there. More of the same. If you like how it is now you will vote for whoever they select for you because no dissenting voices are accepted in the Dem's party. Those voices have been isolated and discarded as leaders. There really should be no legitimate denial of this. And they want to call Trump a facist Nazi. lol.

Angry voters are clearly aligning with Trump and Cruz. Will they stay angry and show up at the booth to vote for the victor in November is the question? Will Trump moderate his approach? Will Rubio/Kasich get out and support Cruz for him to gain momentum? If Trump is nominated will the moderate Dems cross over or stay home to more than offset the disgruntled GOP voter? The country's direction stands in the balance.

What depresses me the most about all this, is that there is not one single candidate that would put what is best for America over his special interest groups needs or his own agenda regardless of what the country needs…

Also, I think its going to deviate quite a bit now. Basically the same series with the same characters, but different events happening with them.

Definitely. There was an interview recently where he said one of the big twists in the books is impossible to do in the show now because in the show the main character involved in dead. I think the ending between the show and books will be very similar if not almost the same, but they'll take different routes to get there.

I really hate that too. I wish they would cut back on the pornography also, but they would lose half their audience if they did that, so I understand why they do it.

I wouldn't mind the nudity if it didn't feel so forced and followed the plot of the books more closely.

But the last few seasons it's been obvious they're writing in 4-5 scenes a season for the sole purpose of letting the audience get their nipple-fix.

Exactly. Well said. I do wish they could do some edited versions for fantasy geek Christians like me. I love The song of Ice and Fire for its gritty realism, and beautiful storytelling. I appreciate good art, and GRRM, even if he is a weird old pervert, has a great gift. People who dont read the books, don't understand that although many things are alluded too in the books, the actual sex itself is not glamourized, and in most cases the actual act itself is not written, and almost never titillating. It is mostly ugly and brutal. Scenes like Khal Drigo, and Dany's initial encounters for example, are written in a way that make you feel squeamish because you realize this a very young girl, who has been brutalized and terrified her entire life. It is not gratuitous, it is necessary to build her character, and to show how in that world people had to either grow up quickly, or be destroyed.

I hope so, because the spoilers will definitely get out. There are already quite a few differences.

I tried, several different times, to read the books and just could not. They are truly amazing books, but I've never been good at reading novels. My max is about 10 pages before I start going cross eyed, and at over 800 pages a piece, yea, not happening. The show kicks ace tho!!
