It does, but the government paying "enhanced" unemployment benefits is keeping people home when employers are screaming for workers to come back. The government is artificially deflating the supply of workers while the demand is going through the roof. Companies that are paying a premium for employees now may find themselves with extremely over compensated employees a year from now and either have to lay them off and re-hire people at a non-inflated wage rate or raise their prices to compensate. I said it earlier, the bottom line will not be impacted. We are having to do it in my business. Steel is through the roof, so we are raising our prices. We are a union facility so our labor rates have not changed.
We are seeing another jump where everything in our lives increases significantly due to bad government policies(not a particular party, both parties). Some things might slightly decrease from peak highs but will never fully come back to previous pricing levels. It has happened many times in the past 25 years.
Wages are being increased across the country but that is part of what is causing the problem and they still won't make up for how much people spend to live and the middle class suddenly sees their income devalued due to the increased costs of nearly everything.
The lower wage workers will still struggle and a small percentage of Americans(many of them the people governing badly) will make loads of money while not truly improving the country in any way.
