Recruiting forum off topic thread (no politics, covid, or hot button issues)

One of my old girlfriends worked at the emergency room and they brought in a guy that was dressed in a Superman costume…. He had tied his wife up…. Butt naked….. he tried to jump off the dresser hitting his head and knocked himself out…. His wife screamed until someone heard her…. They found her still tied up with Superman unconscious on the floor. LOL
Who hasn’t taken a little viagra and dressed up in some super hero tights?

The world is becoming more and more confusing. I just try to stay respectful of others. I don't even mind calling people by their preferred pronouns as long as they let me know what they are. Don't assume I'm going to know them. But when it comes to sports, competition is supposed to be fair. Lia clearly has an unfair advantage. She shouldn't be allowed to compete against people naturally born as women. If it's that important for her to compete, create a trans category of competition.
I feel like this is the most respectful way of saying it, in consideration of all parties.

This is a strange, wonderful world - and as far as I know we are all experiencing our first try at life. You try to figure it out as you go. So, like Weezer I give people a lot of latitude on what their version of this life experience is.

But I don’t think there’s any way to look at that swimming situation and see it as fair or appropriate. I don’t blame the person Lia for undergoing what was most likely a series of very hard decisions to get to the point where she is now a woman. But, with each decision comes consequences. You can’t have it all. Maybe you just gotta find a new hobby.

Three female swimmers on the right. One of whom would've won first place if the dude on the left had not been allowed to declare himself a female and swim against them.
i mean, what control do we have?

a tree falls in the forest, does anyone hear?

It’s amazing how many don’t understand this simple fact

Agree with everything but the "first try at life". I'm on my 15th. Benefit of being the Dalai Lama.

I know.

They just tricked me into believing in gay folks 10 years ago. And lefthanded folks don't have psychological issues 15 years ago. They just aren't natural...but god bless them.

Regressivism always wins.

Title IX was created to give female athletes the opportunity to compete on a level playing field. How is wanting our daughters to be able to compete on a level playing field athletically regressive? Allowing people that were born males to compete athletically against people that were born female, regardless of what currently resides between their legs, will destroy women's sports. It has already started with this disaster. Just look at how much bigger and more muscular the person that won is compared to the others. Now apply that to basketball, softball, soccer, etc. It is hard to see how an ideological group that claims to support women's rights is completely willing to throw women under the bus when it is politically expedient.

Sex and gender are the same thing. The same. Always have been.
Oi. Showing your boomer 😁

Just start with the definitions. Go from there. Gender is not the same concept as biological sex. Anymore than sex and sexuality are the same...male isn't straight...gay, bi, asexual, etc. That's a starting point to understanding at least. I know I was behind at one point too. Us oldheads didn't think past things...lots of conflating concepts that were actually different because we were never confronted with nuanced situations. There's a curve for sure. I get it

Biological sex and sexual orientation are also very easy to define seperately. Which is evidenced by the fact that the gay population never highjacked the language associated with biological sex. No one has ever tried to conflate lesbian and woman and use the words interchangeably.

A lot of people assume this sociological definition of gender. A woman is someone who assumes the social and cultural norms of a woman. Which leads to trans women essentially caricaturing womanhood. But then what? Womanhood is wearing makeup and dresses and having long hair? Obviously not. Plenty of women don't.

There are only two definitions for gender: A synonym for biological sex, or a word that is literally meaningless.

Like it or not, transgenderism can only exist in a world where there are sexes defined by biology, but then those trans people get their own definition: Someone imitating the opposite sex. There's no other way to define it without defying logic.
