that's a great way to go through life. and, emotional.
It just seems like you've been going out of your way to pick at this subject.I'm not the one that's all up in their emotions cause someone said they hated a television show, my dude. I think it's hilarious how many people are seriously butt hurt over me being the one to say "Seinfeld sucks out loud".
And it really is "a great way to go through life", for the record. When you become afraid to speak your own truth because you might hurt someone's tender wittle feewings, that's when life sucks. I sleep quite well at night
Watch yourself. You're speaking to the god from the machine...aka a lazy literary device used when someone doesn't know how to plot a story and writes themselves into a corner.I think you are taking this a little more serious than others. I really don't think people care what shows you like or don't. JMO
I use to agree with you and I still don’t follow or tweet recruits. I am on various social media sites and have seen the reputation we have gained and how it brings in recruits…. We even draw in recruits looking for a little attention that have no desire to come here…. I started to realize that I just didn’t understand it and I was that old man screaming about that devils music. It really is harmless and draws kids to the school….. just like us chanting Nico at the basketball game and all the fans recognizing him had an affect on amici and his family….. File this under DCJW!!!! Go Vols!"I was all set to commit but it was kinda chilly there for April so I decided against it."
Said no recruit ever.
I would look at it like this, say what you would say to a teenager you pass on the street. Which in most cases, would be nothing.

Its harmless until it isn't. As long as its teenage/college age Vol fans interacting I have zero issues. Other than that, it's weird. Sorry.
If that really happened….. then he is more than likely a grooming pedophile….that seems like an extreme stretch to accuse vol fans that tweet under a social media post of that kind of disgusting behavior….."Hey random teenager... send me a selfie with you holding two spoons."
And that was supposedly him doing work for his job. Now insert random fan talking to random teenage recruit and let the scenarios commence.

Interactions = money to the players nowadays. It’s not creepy to them so y’all really just have personal problems it seems. I’d say my tweet was dorky more than anything. Not my best work. Its harmless until it isn't. As long as its teenage/college age Vol fans interacting I have zero issues. Other than that, it's weird. Sorry.
Provide cover? Do you provide cover by going to church, teaching school or coaching sports bc there are plenty of predators at each one….. predators don’t need cover to do what they do…..I agree that you shouldn’t be DMing recruits but tweeting to a post is not close to the same thing. It is extreme but just pointing out that it can very much be abused and used for the wrong purposes. The vast majority of people communicating with recruits are probably just passionate fans. However, the creepers can hide in that group and I won't provide cover for a predator by being part of it.
This is what NIL is about- not all our deals come from Spyre. Don’t think it’s fair to call it corny or foolish. If it feels dumb, then just tweet it from an alt account. No, I'm just not a corny fool.

Social media interactions are part of the data that demonstrates a player’s brand value- if Kyler (or any recruit) can show that every time they tweet, 10,000 Vol fans see it and 1,000 of them care enough to comment, that makes his brand more valuable than if those numbers are 5,000/500 at Oregon. You don’t have to be one of those 10,000 or anything, but it absolutely helps in a small way.
Think about it this way- every social media interaction fans have with him means more money from actual third party sponsorships. That’s less money Spyre has to pay which means more money they can give to other players, which in turns helps drive better signing classes and on-field results.
