I mean, they kind of were. Patton certainly didn't like them, and we did our best to limit their land grab. And Stalin was a ruthless killer.
not really.

Yes, really. Remember those fact things we were discussing the other day. These are some of those.

During the war?

Fascism and Imperialism were the enemy. The moment Hitler shot himself, the turn tables...
Most certainly during the war. Marxism/Socialism/Communism were the enemy of Capitalism. It just so happened that Hitler was doing more to conquer land than Russia was at the moment. “The enemy of my enemy is my friend” became the necessary evil to defeat Hitler. The hatred and mistrust didn’t just happen suddenly when Hitler shot himself.

Time to read another WWII novel.

My central argument that clearly during the war our principal enemies were fascism and imperialism. I agree of USSR was enemy number 1.

There may have been words exchanged, and Stalin was what he was. My argument is that the great eye didnt fully fixate on Russia until the end of WW2.

The enemy of my enemy. They were a key ally in defeating Germany. Clearly, had Hitler not had to fight an arguably bloodier campaign in Russia, Invasion of Normandy looks a different.

Historically accurate depiction of the Allies in WWII...

This generation is doomed
They seem more aware and ethically concscious than most that came before them. And character is what matters. I'm thinking they'll be just fine.

Sorry to break the infinite loop of the older generation thinking less of the younger generation. Though I don't think all that much of the Boomers, GenX, and even elder Millenials tbh. The world is improving, that much is undeniable. Good for all.

They are more tolerant of the differences in others than any generation before them. When people of different backgrounds and schools of thought can work together towards a goal instead of judging each other by arbitrary physical characteristics that have zero impact on who the person is, amazing things could happen.
