Vols 240
Bama 7

Bama's team oversleeps and gets locked in their rooms. Have to recruit fans to dress out. Dobbs throws for 800 yards. Barnett gets 20 sacks.

Barnett could if pagano is in charge of Bama's alignment

Pagano can spin things until the sky turns green, but that was the stupidest trick play I've ever witnessed. And I'm including junior high, 7-on-7, sandlot football...

Was the rest of the Colts staff off the day they worked on this bit of genius? I can't believe there wasn't someone hanging around practice who said "Chuck, this is a monumentally stupid idea".

If it had caused NE to panic and misalign and so on maybe it could have worked. But when the qb is standing there behind one OL (the center) and there are 2-3 defenders standing there, why do you snap the ball??!! Pagano should have called a timeout. Yes. But why if you're the qb or center there do you even snap it?!

Dobbs went off on them after coming off the bench last year. We outscored them for 3 quarters.

I believe we have a shot.

Should we lose, all is not lost. No gnashing of teeth. I hope they are overlooking us though.

Yep, there was so much stupid on that play, it's hard to put into words. I'm not a NE fan by any means, but I'm not sure trying to fool Belichek is going to get you very far...

LOL, I am a math guy, guys. Dust, I thought you said.... Ah never mind.

That's probably for the better...just ride this one out until we get distracted by something else.

Math guy? I'll buy it.

Reading comprehension? Facepalm.

Since I've been INCREDIBLY accurate in my predictions for Florida and Georgia (predicted TN to have 6 and 13 pts respectively) .......

This Saturday is going to be special. Bama's going to come out flat, making many mental errors, turning the ball over a few times, the fans will be quiet and they won't recover all game. Butch's squad will play the opposite, a perfect game for 60 minutes and won't let up for a single play. It's going to be beautiful in every way.

40-17 Vols.

Get ready, it's coming...

Even if I were still a gambling man, I don't think I'd put any money on the Vols this week. That said, there are some things that make me feel a little more optimistic.

1.) In 11 of Bama's 18 losses since Saban has been coach there, the opposing QB had 100+ rushing attempts on the year. 4 of those 7 losses where the QB had less than 100 rushing attempts were in 2007 (Saban's first year). And another 1 of the 7 was 2015 Ole Miss (QB season stats TBD, obviously). The other 2 losses of the 7 were Oklahoma (who has run a type of spread for a while now) and LSU.

2.) In 12 of the 18 losses, the opponent has had more than one week to prepare for Bama (either met in bowl or coming off a bye). The 6 exceptions being UGA & LA-Monroe in '07, Florida '08, Texas A&M '12, Ole Miss '14 & '15.

3.) Coach Jones's teams are now 13-6 coming off 10+ days of rest (bowls & byes).

4.) These Butch Jones led Vols teams just do not quit.

5.) We do not commit many turnovers (although we don't force our opponents to commit many either).

6.) Our special teams play is outstanding.

7.) The running game with Hurd & Dobbs can be very fun to watch.

It's going to depend on how we start. This won't be a game where we will come back after getting down 21 early. If we stay close early we have a shot. Medley kicks a 42 yard field goal as time expires to give the good guys a 27-24 Volunteer win!

If this happens, I will construct a goal post in my backyard and then tear it down.

Just so you could make it sideways?
