Recruiting Forum: Official Alabama Pre-Game/Game Thread

It's why you move the pocket to keep them off balance. I just wonder how the injuries limited us. Not suggesting we would have won

We definitely should have moved the pocket more. I just think a healthy Thomas is better than Weisman at center. If his shoes are good now then I seriously doubt there would have been a noticeable difference having Weisman in.

Here's what I predict will happen. 2 or 3 years after Saban retires, when they lose 3 or 4 in a year, since they won't be the cash cow anymore, that's when ncaa will investigate.

Who would have taken a guaranteed 5-2 with wins over UF and UGA at the start of the season?

At the end of the day, we've completely closed the gap (and probably surpassed) the gap that we had between us and the top tier in the east, but we are a looooooong way off from Bamas league.

So is 99 percent of college football, but I suspect a couple of teams in the West our closer than us.

I'm still all Butch but I'm not sure we'll ever beat Bama. He's recruiting ok but not really close to the level to compete with them. On the offensive side we still don't have a line five years into it. Our play calling is stale and unimaginative. Our receivers still as a whole underperform. We are still light years from competing with Bama. I'm not sure he's capable of getting us there. He's pulled us up from the bottom and he deserves a tremendous amount of credit for that. I have serious doubts that he can take us to the next level.

We were leading them last year IN TUSCALOOSA with about 3 minutes left.

Today was a perfect storm of awfulness and it resulted in a crushing loss.

It happens. Time to move on.

They were over looking us last year. No one is overlooking us this year. We have a target on our back.

This was garbage overall. Team quit and coaches did nothing to help especially on offense.

Refs aren't going to call a thing and our players have to just be more physical. Abernathy and his BS at safety bothers me.

Needs to be open up competition all over the roster. Barnett and Tuttle balled but the backend needs to be open season.

If we can get completely healthy by the SEC championship game, then I believe we can beat Alabama. Yes, I still think we're going to Atlanta this year, as I just don't see Florida winning out.

Agreed on the backend. It was like we didn't have safeties. They were both bad. I want to see Warrior.

I honestly don't think they have to try really hard when it comes to coaching when they have a roster full of NFL type players. And to hear people say when Saban retires, Bama will go down. Ha ha, with as much money they have made the last 10 years, they can get whatever coach they want. Especially with the amount of success Saban has had, why wouldn't the best coaches want to fill his shoes.

They have built a lasting dynasty at Bama.. period
