‘23 Recruiting Forum: Official Alabama Pregame/Game Thread

That’s one of the laziest post I’ve seen on VN. Lol. Out yourself as a troll at this point.
I’m not a troll? I like Heupel a lot. He brought us out of a very dark place. I am just questioning whether he’s going to be able to having us compete and win championships.

We’re probably losing 4-5 starters on the OL. Look at the guys behind them. We’re going to have to bring in 3-4 new starters or Nico is going to get killed

Why you covering for the Birmingham Office officials, bruh. Severe BVS? Or just want to hate? I don't see why you cover for them. Well, actually I predicted people would, and how it would happen. But still.

No one was going to beat those officials today. No one in the world.

It didn't matter what we did or who was at QB. They would have just thrown a fake flag.
So let me get this straight. The refs let us take a 20-7 lead into halftime only to not let us score again in the second? You have a losers mentality.

When you play Alabama you have to beat Alabama and skanks refs. That's a fact. It's obvious. One whole penalty the whole game? A penalty that actually benefited them. This stuff is so crooked and orchestrated it's obvious. They let us have our fun in the first half and then did their magic.

Skanky set this up years ago. Set it up to favor Alabama in the west and GA in the east. He chose GA because they never play Alabama. Isn't it funny how that works? That gives him the best chance to get two teams in the playoffs. We overcame that last year with Hooker and Hyatt. No way skanks was going to let that happen again.

I used to think this SEC conspiratorial thinking was complete BS and a cheap cop out for subpar play.

However, it gets harder to argue against every year. The SEC ref looking back at the sticks to spot the ball a few years ago, the objective statistics between the two teams heading into this, etc.

If this was the case, expanding to 12 teams would theoretically help everyone in the SEC not named Bama.

Interesting that @EdEcEko77 said a lot of late money came in on Bama, yet the line just dropped from -9 to 8.5 just before kickoff.

It’s simply amazing how you can determine who will win a game by how the money moves pregame.

Not saying everything is rigged. But Jesus ****ing Christ

The NFL started allowing guys to put both arms wide to signal they were letting the ball go. I’m not sure I knew that to be the case in college. However, Dee did not fully commit to it, and he wasn’t the one who caught it. Just another 50/50 call that went against us along with the 100% holding calls.
Gotcha. I’ve seen it done a 100 times. My son does it in hs when the ball is in the endzone.
NEVER, have he seen it called a fair catch by the non recovering returner!
Hell, for that matter, a D lineman should be able to call a fair catch. How can anyone other than the player making the catch call “fair” or not?! I’m perplexed by this bs call!

I feel the same way. I don’t think Heupel will ever win us a championship. That’s not the most terrible thing. I will be happy if he keeps us within the 9-10 win range.

This screw job is criminal. That’s twice this year where it cost us the game. The schools and all who gamble on games need to sue the NCAA and conferences for allowing refs to change the outcomes of games.
Danny White needs to tell Josh Heupel that the school will cover the fine, then let him rip the refs. Other schools that feel like they've received poor officiating need to do the same. Until schools are willing to shine the spotlight on it and incur the fines, nothing will change.

I’m ready to ride with Nico, I know Joe wasn’t necessarily the issue but this offense is handcuffed with him. Nothing really left to play for in terms of championships so roll with the QB of the future.
It’s not going to happen. This year is a wash for us. I see 9 and three for us, I would’ve be great with that before Josh Heupel. At least we have future in front of us. We haven’t had that for years.

On a side note, I refuse to have any of my posts added to the gumps forum. All of you should think about that.

The question is about the fair catch signal. I believe it doesnt only have to be a hand wave over the head, it can be any obvious gesture.
Section 8

Valid Signal
ARTICLE 2.
A valid signal is a signal given by a player of Team B who has obviously signaled his intention by extending one hand only clearly above his head and waving that hand from side to side of his body more than once

Hey you guys remember lowly Virginia? How bad they were? They are a 1 win team and right now they are on the road at #10 UNC and it’s tied at 14. Some teams can play on the road.

@Freak Please put this on the front page, too, and in a game report type post, closed to comments. Thanks.
I wish Huep would have sarcastically said something like, "it's really hard to beat Alabama but when they play that perfect of a game with zero penalties except for one that actually benefitted them. You really have to take your hat off that they were able to play that clean for 60 min."

There needs to be stricter rules about becoming refs too. Refs should have no ties to any sec school and should not be a local of the any of the games they are officiating at. Should also be a full time job to give them proper training.

"And while millions who watched the game clearly saw Bama foul nearly every single down of the game with impunity, it could have simply been millions of people seeing the same exact apparitions repeatedly for hours."

Heupel had another game to forget, but some folks trashing him need to remember the place he brought us out of. This was always going to be a transition year. We just scared the crap out of (and frankly blew this opportunity) Alabama in Tuscaloosa. We will be fine. Our offense is just extremely limited right now. It’s a process, and we aren’t at the destination yet. 2022 isn’t some flash in the pan like some others have said.

He makes way too many questionable in game decision. Teams are undisciplined. We aren’t recruiting like we need to offensively.

He’s helped us get back to beating average and good teams but we still have a ways to go to be elite and actually compete for titles
We were number one for a time last year. WTF? Who do you want to get that is better? I am thrilled with this coach.

Volnation will cover the fine.
