How does a puny little slow untalented team slow down a big, strong and fast team like ours?...it literally makes zero sense.
I just see no excuse.Quite simple.
1) They emptied their playbook.
2) Had a lot of calls incorrectly go their way.
3) Our WR's dropped a lot of passes.
4) Milton had a couple bad throws.
5) We are still experimenting with our OL.
6) Offensive playcalling was very generic.
7) They were quite aggressive on offense (going for it on most 4th downs and short).
Given the nature of football, if any one of those goes the opposite way, it could have very easily been a blowout we were all expecting.
No need to freak out over the (relative) closeness of this game in the same way we shouldn't have been overconfident in a blowout win.
Reality is, regardless of how the first two games go, minus a catastrophic loss, we wouldn't and won't know what kind of team we have until next week.
Just have seen so many games like this today. GA didn't score in the first QT today. It happens. I think what comes into play for us here at UT is 15 years of misery and when we have one of those games like today it takes us back. I am not saying Joe is it by no means and our season will ride on how he is doing but we got to remember people have bad games. In our life, some day's are just not our best. All I am saying is instead of just throwing in the towel in let's wait and see how the team comes back. Also, it wasn't all Joe. Some really bad drops and don't even get me started on the refs who killed like three of our drives when we were really moving the ball. Good to talk with ole friend.Yeah...you hang in there for us all buddy...I have zero confidence after watching that. What's funny is that I thought I was the voice of realism all summer...but this was way worse than anything I foresaw.
Milton ain't it, I want the guy to be it, I like him so much..but he just ain't it...period....and the WRs suck....and the OL is even worse than I thought they would be.
I hope I'm wrong.
I am sorry....I usually don't freak out like this...but this turned my stomach.
