If Pruitt can still reel in a top 10 class with the crapfest that will be on display this season, I think we'll be ok. If not it will send a bad signal to me. What comes first, the cruits or the wins?
I think we'll be aight, when we can get Pruitt's players in here. I get discouraged and then when I hear Pruitt's press conferences, I feel better. Dude sees everything. He's also hired a great coaching staff.

I’m okay with the right trajectory tho. Top 15 with what I still believe are good coaches will suffice. If we were to fall out of the top 25, that would be bad.

I think it's time to adjust all expectations.

We are not a good program. And it'll be a while before we are.

Last time we had to recruit out of a mess, we had a legacy class who peer recruited us into a top class. Now, we have legacies and local elite recruits peer recruiting against us. Gonna be tough to pull in a top 10-15 class if we have a really bad season. It'll be a coup if Pruitt can hold the class together.

I'm not ready to call this staff great. I realize they may not be working with the best ingredients but are they better at any position group now than they were last year?

Sobering loss. And as somebody who thought we’d have to scratch and claw to get to 5 wins, I thought I was already sober.

0-8 last year wasn’t a fluke. Tons of work to do at all levels of this program. And it starts with finding some SEC-level talent.

I agree, Tennessee was not as far removed from being Tennessee then too. Much different this time around. I said when they hired Butch that we better hope he's successful because if he's not it may very well be the end if Tennessee football as we know it. I hope I was wrong but I'm not sure I was.

Agreed. This was a bad loss. For several reasons

I get that, but wrong way to go about trying to get excitement back into the program. Again, this program has shot it's own nuts off for a decade. You don't just go out there and say, "Hey guys! We are celebrating the 20th anniversary of our only memorable NC! Ain't that cool!?" You give it a year or two with Pruitt or any other new coach before you do anything higher profile like that. Now we are a laughing stock and most likely killed any hope this team had in itself. The marketing dude advising Fulmer is also to blame for this as he didn't drug Fulmer so he couldn't announce this.

We can agree to disagree. I think there are 150 bigger reasons why the team lost this game in humiliating fashion and all of them were on the sideline during the game and in the locker room afterward. They were there for the WVU loss and most of them will be there next week and the week after and the week after as the losses continue to pile up.

No question-- every bad hire and bad season has dug the hole deeper. Pretty soon, it'll be the Grand Canyon.

You're misunderstanding me if you think I'm saying we lost because Fulmer decided to make this a celebratory game. Couldn't be further from the truth. I'm actually saying that it was a bad call to do any type of celebration like that for this game for multiple reasons. 100% agree that it is the mentality of some of the players who can't shake it for why we lost tonight.

I will be very interested to see how long of a leash Fulmer gives Pruitt if the turnaround doesn’t happen as quickly as he thinks it should. They’ve already butted heads a bit and Fulmer is not a traditional administrator.

Hopefully we don’t get to that point.

Great, that’s just what we need .... fulmer to start a problem with Pruitt. If everyone remembers correctly, Fulmer was the start of our downfall. I love fulmer but he needs to stfu and let Pruitt coach. This guy is gonna turn things around and win. **** anyone at Tennessee that tries to stop him. Pruitt is a coach, something we have t had since 2005.....if Pruitt gets any friction on what he wants to do in the first few years then **** fulmer and Tennessee football. We have a hell of a coach that needs to be left alone and allowed to coach. Butch and Dooley ****ed us over bad

guys, our recruiting is about to go off the clliff. This is not going to be pretty and will delay any hopes of a re-build for this program for years.

Gotcha. I did misunderstand-- my bad. I wish the 20th hoopla was the problem, since that will be gone and the other issues will remain.

I did not get to watch game but I just watched the presser can someone tell me WTF happened with Sapp. Did he quit on us, and Pruitt tell him to GTFO?
