I begged on here all week to do one of four things:
1. Go with Johnson and Davis at tackles instead of Heard and Campbell.
2. Go with some younger but more talented tackles (if we have any).
3. Convert some def linemen into off tackles.
4. Send out the call to the dorms and fraternities for some big old boys over 300 pound that played football before as just space eaters.
(I do realize that this one is the craziest. But, we did do it for a kicker before.)

I was told time and again that Heard and Campbell (even playing hurt) are still preferable to any of these suggestions.
And maybe they are.
If so, that’s a really sad commentary on our recruiting and player development.
Rant over.

they can't be in run blocking.

This is a typical reaction from enterprises such as these when their money trains and power are disrupted. The evidence of this is right in front of all of us. When smacked down by the courts their first response was to try to enforce their rules anyway. That was also smacked down. So then they went with spreading money around to retain power with the current "settlement" that will also go through suits in court and be proven illegal under current laws.

Those who do not cooperate will be punished. The only way to excel on the field is to beat both the officials and the opponent soundly. Voltello and the Diamond Vols took that approach a few years ago. Tennessee stubborn azz pride and wear the black hats. They hold the trophy today. It will need to be the same with football and basketball.

Our goals are attainable if Nico and the OT's can get it together in time. It is time to put on more steam.

I think Vitello is the only baseball coach they have ever accused of tampering in the entire nation. And it was a bs insignificant instance: We had seen the transcript by internet and/or fax before the player made his visit, but Kansas was deliberately stalling sending an official copy, iirc, in order to make the player unable to exercise his right to take visits.
