‘23 Recruiting Forum: Official Florida Pregame/Game Thread

LMFAO! The announcer just asked "Do you believe now?" after Colorado wins in 2OTs against a team they should have manhandled. What a freakin' joke.

I honestly think they're in trouble next week when they play Oregon. Colorado and Deion are not this juggernaut that ESPN is making them out to be. I swear, this is like when they hyped up Woodson so much that Peyton was robbed of the Heisman.

And I'm not downing Deion. He's doing a great job so far. I'm not a fan of his cockiness, but his team is playing well. He deserves kudos for that. But he's not Vince Lombardi. I'm tired of the press hyping them up as more than they are.
Yea it kinda sucks because they play 8 ranked teams (as of rn), a difficult schedule and even if they go 6-6 it should be considered a successful year after what prime inherited imo. But i feel like with how much they’ve been hyped up since the TCU win people are gonna clown on them if they go worse than 10-2. I can already see it happening next week if they lose to Oregon they’ll get called frauds

What makes it even more odd is it definitely seemed like the media was against him all off season. “In over his head” “doesn’t know how to run a program” ect and now they’re dickriding him

Interesting games for next week:

UTSA at Tennessee
Florida State vs. Clemson
Colorado vs. Oregon
Ole Miss vs. Alabama
Iowa vs. Penn State
Ohio State vs. Notre Dame
Oregon State vs. Washington State
UCLA vs. Utah
Rutgers (surprisingly undefeated) vs. Michigan
Oklahoma vs. Cincinnati
Arkansas vs. LSU
Auburn vs. TAMU
Memphis vs. Mizzou (both are undefeated)
Mississippi State vs. South Carolina (I'd love to see SCar fall to 1-3)

Next weekend looks like a good slate of games. A Tennessee win and some major upsets would be nice.

That last part is why you have so many hating on Deion. The media, especially ESPN IMO, is force feeding Deion to the public as the greatest thing ever. So of course, there is pushback.

I think as soon as they realized Deion was good for CFB/rating/entertainment they started pushing it. Just too extreme imo

There needs to be harsher actions taken against horrid officiating. That was an insane call.

Imagine the nail biter this game would have been had the refs not been objectively shite.
I think the Birmingham office is throwing these officials bags to rig games. 😂 Maybe Sabey's bagmen handle it.

@VolGee4 I just had to look at a few minutes of the Bama game. 4 of our first 5 passing highlights included passes of 5-15 yds with 3 to wide receivers and one to the tightends…. those passes are not there this year .https://youtu.be/ehxfl9K9Jgg?si=39n5Q8Mo8qsnvC7G

I didn't put all of it on them. I didn't say we didn't play poorly. I said the two drive kills, followed by the missed PI in the endzone on the next drive was the difference in the game. I think it was. I'm trying see the second half for what it was. Even though we did play like horseshit in the first half.
Really don’t see how anyone who actually watched the game doesn’t see how after a horrendous first half on our part we were on track for a huge comeback in the 2nd half had the refs not made the worst calls college football history. I know most people don’t want to blame refs but this was a glaring issue in the 2nd half that even two announcers, including one who’s known to hate on us, called it out. Still sick from seeing something like that.

I'm with those on the whole Colorado thing. I Want Deion to do well but them acting like he's the second coming of Lombardi is a lot too much.

Hope it was Hadden’s teeth
A lot of our players played stupid football yesterday.

Herring with the shoulder bump, Joe with the moon throw to no one, Hadden all day not wrapping up and then fighting in the endzone (bagging up), Ollie with 1 million pre snap penalties, Joe not snapping the ball while Florida has to many men, Joe checking down on a free play, etc etc etc.

This 1 million percent. One of the most undisciplined efforts I’ve seen from a Tennessee team.

ESPN stated an interesting stat on Joe Milton, he has not completed a pass on the move…..
how did the staff not know we were this bad at qb? and line of scrimmage? i mean, is spyre really struggling that much?

i'm all about supporting my vols. but i dont see this team getting good enough to make any noise.

i trust josh huepel, but i'm not 100% sold on rest of this staff. and i hate to say this. because i truly believe in continuity. but there may need to be some changes if things don't get better.

the austin peay game wasnt an anomaly. that should never happen. losing like that to a really bad florida team, shouldn't happen.

This blindsided block call really put us in a tailspin. Calling was atrocious . Defense just terrible first half just reacting to late and needed to be forcing turds adjusting.
When Herbstreit and Fowler are calling out officials during a Tennessee game ....then there is a rotten apple somewhere in the barrel...

But calling is atrocious at every Tennessee game. The only consistency is the complete lack of consistency. It makes CFB unfun to watch, a ****ing flag gets thrown every other play. Its mentally exhausting, and ruins any momentum either team has.

You're telling me that Tennessee REALLY committed 120 yrds worth of fouls? Further, that an officiating crew REALLY needed to inject themselves into the game to call 150+ yards in penalties? That's like a police captain giving officers a quota. Why? Perhaps if they hadnt been so busy writing tickets they couldve gotten the detail right, spotting the ball.

Its really un watchable.

In both games, opposing teams held, AND interferred. WHY isnt that called?

Honestly I think our history with Florida is blinding fans of that fact. Those guys don't call out refs multiple time unless something bad is going down
