I hate it when a game goes pretty much like you thought it was going to. The score is not reflective of the competition of the game however. Thanks to JG reverting to brainlock mode and gifting them 20 pts it looks a lot worse than it was. Also Kennedy is a great guy, but he is a weak link. Cade is obviously Rusty, so was Sham, DJ excused himself early from the game, and our young OLs are...well...extremely young OLs and will only get better. I do not understand why people cannot see that...Agreed.
We are who most of us thought we were going into this game. Felt we had a puncher’s chance, but knew deep down we are a mid-tier SEC team right now.
That’s better than being a low-tier.
We’ve ran through coaches for a decade +.
Time to settle in and let Pruitt and company go to work. Most of us felt this was a 7-3 / 6-4 season with this schedule.
We still have some good opportunities on the schedule. Today was a test. We ain’t ready for the upper tier, but this ain’t time to go toxic and throw in the towel.
Yeah I think Carvin might have a chance to start at center next week if he’s healthy. Kennedy’s seniority isn’t enough for him to hold his spot anymore IMO.I hate it when a game goes pretty much like you thought it was going to. AV knows things we don’t because he has money and access.. which is awesome for us when it comes to recruiting.. but he’s a fan just like the rest of us and showed that today with all the “short leash” comments.. JG isn’t coming off that field, period..What got me pause, AV said we were going to throw everything at them. Don’t get me wrong, I still believe we are headed in the right direction. This game doesn’t change how I feel, but we are probably a class of getting there. This isn’t the end of the season, it’s one lose and showed where we are as a team.
Same here. I think, in the end, the defense was just on the field too long. Then, we gave up back to back field goals on turnovers. It kind of let some of the air out our balloon. I will always love my Vols, just wish we‘d give Shrout, Maurer, or Bailey a chance.I was impressed with our goal line/4th down defense. we got to be proud of that.
We are not close. Our o line got whipped. We got little consistent pressure. We constantly looked slower than Uga and still in year 3 have trouble lining up correctly.Kirby started 3 years ahead of Pruitt and is not still 3 years ahead. We are close. Reminded me of a 90s FL game. Stupid mistakes, no stops on third, and we didn’t establish the run
That’s the thing. He still makes freshman mistakes. That interception was something you’d see out of a true frosh making his first SEC start.
We were up into the first of the second half. I still didn’t see any quit in them, even in the fourth. It’s only the third game. Maybe when we were laughing at Georgia for being overconfident, we should have at ourselves, but it’s football, that’s what we do. It’s too early to write off the season, it’s only game 3 and the sky’s not falling. But in year 3 we should be competitive and once again we aren't. Thats not progress.
This UGA team is far from good. Getting blown out by 30 is bad. This team aint beating the only 2 teams worth a damn left on the schedule. We were up into the first of the second half. How does he know if hes going to stoke gold if he won't play another QB?I hear you. Progress is relative. We have gone from 0-8 in conference play to firmly in the middle of the SEC pack. We have made progress.
I can’t say authoritatively that Pruitt can take us to the upper tier of the SEC, but I can say we have learned through 4 coaching searches that there is not white whale out there who we can throw money at and they will win instant championships.
As a fan base we’ve gotta take a different approach. Let Pruitt build. What we need most, and I have grown to love JG, is Pruitt needs to hang on until he strikes gold with a QB.

This has been a different kind of year, no, I’m not making excuses. I’m going to watch and still not give the Alabama or Florida game a automatic loss until I have to.This UGA team is far from good.
