Every coach makes mistakes and bad roster decisions sometimes. Do you not think that Harrison had the playbook for a while? He was groomed to play from the start. This is Pruitt going with someone who doesn’t usually turn the ball over and less talent in order to let his defense win games. But when you play a better team, you can’t have an average QB. JG is what is holding us back. Without those turnovers and better decisions, this is a close game that could go to either team.
So we are a fanbase thats cool with beating nobodies and getting smoked by good teams. Got it. I'll talk myself into being cool with it by next week. Sorry for wanting more.
One thing that DOES concern me about trying to catch UGA / Bama.
We are trying to build a team just like theirs. Which means the only way to beat them is to catch up with roster talent.
Other teams who do it differently, i.e. Ole Miss with Hugh Freeze / Kiffin, have a better chance of steaming a win because they are so wide open.
But I do think the Pruitt approach is more sustainable over the long haul. Just might take longer.
Never said that but whatever. Believe what you want.
You want to improve, and I believe we are doing that. We got killed by Mizzou and Vandy in year one (after the same in Butch’s last year). We were in this game halfway through the 3rd. Call it what you want.
Doesn’t even make sense. It’s like JG completely forgot how to play QB.....
Amazing people can’t understand this. There are tiers in CFB. As much as we hate to admit it, UGA is Tier 1, at least talent wise. We are probably Tier 3.
We also don’t have a QB. We hung in tough for a half, then talent and depth took over and our QB proved he’s not very good.
QB is such a difference maker in a program. I love the kid but I'm over his play. I guess you have to trust the coaches to play the right players but I can't see how Mauer or Shrout could do much worse than JG in the second half.Yep. Kirby is not a great coach. He just uses his talent. He and Chaney lost to Vandy in year one and almost Nicholls State- had Chubb, Michel, Hardmon, McKenzie, Roquan Smith- all on NFL rosters. We just need to keep adding and developing. Need a better QB.
Maybe google it. We all have criticisms, but that’s where you hang your hat.
You do know our talent gap is almost 4 points per recruit...? Today's challenge was still a nice step forward, but that gap is similar to between us and Pitt. We have a ways to go and it will take a couple more years.Did you forget blue font? That’s a loser mentality.
Your “objectively” has never been as such, and none of it makes me feel better. I never lie to myself, I wouldn’t believe it.Is blind optimism where you hang yours? We’re seeing red flags for any fan that wants more than finishing 3rd in the East every year. Lie to yourself if you want. Suggest the issue is with me to make yourself feel better, or look at objective reality and take note the gap isn’t closing.

You don't close a 28 point spread overnight.
The last few years, outside of 2 games (one was Auburn 2018), our other 4 games vs big dogs were 25+ spreads...that IS less than a 1% chance to win!I want to agree with you, but I guess that’s the difference between having a good coach and a great coach. A good coach needs equal talent to have a chance at winning and a great coach doesn’t. We aren’t going to close a talent gap when losing by 3 TDs in every meaningful game. We’re going to be stuck in this limbo until then.
