37-10 Dawgs. I don’t see our offense being able to move the ball. Their offense is sound and their qb is efficient against the blitz and zone coverage. Our LBs are young and will be out of position.
I hope I’m wrong, but I think this team is down rt now and some are ready for the season to end. It reminds me a bit like 1992 when we lost three straight. One of our lineman (Stone) was in my political science class and said he was ready for the season to end since their goal of SEC East champs was a memory.
I made the 10 hour drive. This is my first time back to Knoxville in well over a decade. I can’t wait for the game. My biggest question is where to tailgate and what time to get to the stadium. I absolutely want to see the Vol Walk. What else is a must? I’m pretty sure I’m going to book an Uber to drive us there so we don’t have to deal with parking. Thinking about getting there around 11. Is that too late? Are there any tailgates we can join and pay for a plate of food or drinks?
My take away is that some of the struggles with the penalties has to fall on Heupel because it's the norm with his teams. Maybe the refs just don't like Heupel and they're singling his team out for persecution, but I think it's far more logical to think that the Heupel coaching staff just isn't that concerned with penalties. If they were, they'd make it a focus and demand some discipline from this team. Know folks want to think that Heupel is the next Spurrier, but I think he's just Josh Heupel. He is who and what he is. The very things that are driving us nuts are exactly the things that UCF fans were complaining about when he was the coach there. It's been pointed out before, but there were a number of UCF fans who weren't the least bit upset when Heupel left. From a 4 play playbook to a crappy defense to penalties to showing up unmotivated over and over again to winning with the previous coach's player to lack of focus/discipline.. This is who Heupel was. Maybe he grows and adapts to the new waters he swimming in, but then again, maybe not? Regardless, when we have the weapons, the product will be fun to watch. It's gonna give defensive coordinators a lot of sleepless nights prepping for us. And on a rare occasion, we'll crash the party and make UGA/bama sweat in the SEC. We'll be the last team anyone in the playoffs will want to face because they don't face an offense like ours enough to be comfortable with it. But the next Spurrier, nah. Thanks for sharing. His answers are similar to what he says now. It’s concerning to hear that he his team had penalty issues at UCF. I agree with Doug Matthews in that most penalties are Coach related as it relates to holding, false starts, etc. Time will tell.

His staff is what it is. Get recruiting better and we are on an upward trajectory.
Hopefully he will make some changed if he feels compelled. Honestly, Im completely fine if Willie Mo stays. Same for Banks, despite some searing takes on my behalf.
Theyve got a solid class. But, gotta get great.
