2 wins average score of 42...negative to positive posts...90 - 10.

I get as upset when we lose (or are losing:)) as anyone but it does seem that to some it is never good enough. We don't know what the coaches were doing. We don't know what different alignments that they were working on. It very well could be that they were experimenting with stuff the second and third teamers couldn't execute. Also, this was a very complicated scheme with all the motion and shifts. It was an offense that the coaches needed the experience on the field. It is way more than just throwing guys out there. And, it's very likely they wouldn't have scored had it not been for the turnover on our end of the field.

If Jumper hasn't had enough reps by now then when will he ever?? I get you wanting to give the coaches the benefit of the doubt. I'm usually right there with you and I HATE being negative like this, but I'm more sure that I'm right about this than anything I've ever said in Volnation.

As thin as LB depth is, it was critical to get Ignont up to speed. How can we keep trusting the coaches when they weren't even gonna play Bitulu until they had to, and we've seen what he is doing now.

Edit* and Jumper is TIRED and he doesn't play well when he is tired. See second half of GT game.
+1.

Jumper doesn't need any more reps. Everybody knows what he is. He's a guy with a backup ceiling who can line up the defense and occasionally make a nice play because he usually plays smart and has decent instincts. But he's not athletic enough to make a lot of plays in space and on the edge.

No excuse not to get Ignont some reps in the second half to see what he's capable of.

Serious question, have you ever known me to be a negative poster?

You didn't ask me, but I'm going to answer - no, I've never seen this from you. However, I think you are fretting over it a little too much.

We won today like we should have. Both QB's look promising. OL run block with 5 nice looking RB's are going to carry us regardless who is QB. WR looks promising.

Defense is shaky, but today, we gave up 200 yards total. Not a great team, but that's what you do against not great teams. Just my opinion.

They played pretty much everybody on offense. I was talking about defense and they weren't trying anything special on D.

And I'm not a negative poster.

No kidding, I thought there was plenty negative to discuss in the first game, but come on. We just won 42-7 and look pretty good doing it on a short week. Everything I'm hearing is nitpicking. Plenty positive to discuss.

They were doing some weird stuff on d. They were shifting everyone but the center and we were countering. We were confused on more than one occasion. We were splitting line backers out wide on receivers. We were looping safeties from one side of the field to other based on shifts. We were moving people around at the snap on several occasions. Their was some very unorthodox stuff going on on the defensive side of the ball.

Both our opening opponents presented unconventional offenses and I honestly wonder if they worked much at all on ISU.

You're probably right about me fretting over it too much. It's just that there's been a pattern of this and it's getting to be too much for me lol

I'm thrilled about:

Taylor
Tuttle is back!
Bituli
Warrior
KMack
Phillips is coming on when he gets chances
Gaulden

I think both QBs can be good to great with more experience
STACKED at RB
WR looking good esp Callaway
OL finally has serious potential

Coach G doing work
Coach Scott doing very well so far imo

I am happy we are 2-0

I just hope our defensive staff doesn't blow it by making dumb personnel decisions.

So you don't think we needed to get Ignont in before their last drive. We probably won't need him to be ready for SEC play anyway.

Wiggins didn't look happy and just headed for the locker room. Oh well.

After what I saw from him holding the edge against that jet sweep at the end, he may have a good argument to not be happy. I need to go back and watch again, as I had just come in from working to catch the end of the game.

I'm saying putting ignont in against ISU would not have been all that beneficial. He probably goes against better competition in practice. I don't think you're wrong I just think you are overstating the importance of it.

On the last play? Hmmm. I bet we see him a lot next week.

That slant vs Florida. Other than that nothing,

And he caught that in full stride. Callaway accelerates after the catch and runs off on people. Malone isn't faster than him I don't know what he's looking at. Callaway is better everywhere than Malone and has just as much speed with more explosion with the ball.

We have two games under our belt and we'll get a full week to rest/practice. UF doesn't have a good offense so I expect us to look pretty good against them.

On offense, we've score 42 in both games and our run game looks stout. Hopefully QD improves a touch but I don't think he's God awful like some others on here. We may not hang 43 on UF, but I like our chances next week.

He fights for the ball better than Malone ever did. He's 10X more physical. I don't know who'd win in the 100 but he seems plenty fast to me.

Butch needs to be asked these questions on Monday- with the lead we had why on earth did younger players not get some valuable experience? Then you put in younger players who play great for what two snaps at the end?! That's just stupid to have done that. Do these players look horrible in practice or something? It just makes NO SENSE!! Not only that, but we are damn lucky we didn't have more injuries today leaving starters in for so long.

That argument works better for Jumper though lol not great logic.

Agree. Really hope Hubbs or somebody asks them these questions. No excuse for not playing the younger guys today. We need them to get game experience
