It’s hard to predict what our Vols will do week in and week out. How does our offense go from what they did against AU / USCjr to what we saw against Charlotte? Who knows, hopefully we were just flat Saturday. I think to win we need a defensive or special teams TD.

Sooner or later this OL is going to get JG really hurt, there will he a hit that he can't get up from, and the KC lovers will get their wish. I honestly don't see how the kid is still standing, if he had as much awareness as he does toughness he would be a Heisman contender.
If JG had as much awareness as has toughness the Oline woes wouldn't be as prominent.

I still can't believe there is a thread discussing how we "MIGHT" beat Kentucky.
WTF has happened to this program?????

the only question about this game is can Georgia beat KY twice?

the defensive match up against our offense is a bad one.

and they should be able to run agianst our defense.

The book is written. Stack the box to stop the run. Play your secondary close to the los to stop the wr screens to the flats and the end around. We got nothing else. Sure, you'll occasionally give up the jump ball but for the most part you'll get what we saw Saturday.

Sell out to stop the run. Make Terry Wilson beat you with his arm.

Our offense will go back to what worked vs Auburn and South Carolina. I believe we were hiding it vs. Charlotte.

You have to believe Kentucky will come in deflated after Georgia ended their East championship dream.

Our crowd should be pretty good. Good chance at beating a top 20 team.

All that jumbled together.....

UGA held UK to UGA's (13th ranked nationally) approximate seasonal average of 306 yards of offense (311 yds). The much maligned Wilson was 23/29 for 226 yards. They had 84 yards rushing. They scored liked we did against UGA, in the second half primarily. They went to the air more because of being behind and Snell being dinged up. They have received very fortunate bounces and treatment by officials this season. The Vandy passing yards is not relevant at this point in the season since they just excelled at passing against a better D.

Better team in the trenches - UK. Better D - UK (15th nationally at 311 yards per game). Better O - UK by a slight margin of 23 yards per game. Better coached team - UK. More incentive to win/trend - UK. Better skill players - UT overall. Better ST - UT. Home field advantage - UT. Vegas line -3.5 UK.

Everything generally points to UK to win by at least a touchdown. Now would be a good time for UT to start playing real football again if it is in them because UK and Vandy represent their best shots to win another SEC game this season.

Prediction:

I would like to go a bit deeper into this, but I've put in a lot more time into it already than you would think. I began this thread thinking we had an upset on our hands. I rarely pick against the grain, but I thought that Snell's apparent decline would pace the Vols to victory. Unfortunately, QB Wilson has passed for over 100 yards more than his previous game averages over the last two weeks, so the offensive shortcomings will likely be negated. Ultimately, this is a match-up between the Tennessee offense and the Kentucky defense, and I just don't have any faith in our offense to put up more than the 13 point average they managed between similarly ranked defenses in UGA and Alabama.

The Neyland faithful wont let us down with this one. Neyland ain’t no Kroger field. Cats get scared and Warrior gets his first pick of the year - and takes it to the house.

UT - 27
Cats - 20

It'll take some turnovers. They are better than we are.

I'm going to believe this bc it's all I have to hang on to. But, keep in mind how devastated Mizzu was before they came in to play UF last week. Who knows whether a team is motivated or not.

We need to show that we are playing at home for once and come out with some fire. If we do, we have a good chance.
Isn’t that the truth?! I don’t feel like I have seen this team jacked up at the opening kickoff yet. Seems like no one has any emotion. Would like to see that change.

You know what would be cool? Walk, not run through the T and stare at the KY sideline the entire time.

Not really. The opposing team enters the stadium after we open the T. at least usually. we would be looking at an empty bench more than likely.
