If you are insinuating that any of those OLs you brought up are worse than the most undersized, inexperienced OL in D1 football then I don't know what sort of conversation we could even have. And I am not arguing that Helton has been without fault, but completely disagree wtih your assertion about the OLs.

You’re making it out like we have the worst OL in D1 football and that just isn’t the case. They need help when it comes to scheme and QB moving around being quicker but they are not as bad as people are making them out to be.

We aren’t giving up sacks at an alarming rate for a team that throws the ball the majority of the time and with a QB that isn’t mobile. That’s not terrible.

My whole point was they are teams all over football with OL problems. It doesn’t mean you can’t have a productive offense.

I've not seen enough from this offense that tells me we can move the ball against anyone. If KY is smart they'll crowd the line of scrimmage take away the run, passes to the flats, and screens. That's 98% of our offense. I've not seen an answer to that kind of defense against us. I think JG has improved light years from last year but I haven't seen much improvement through this season. I don't think he has the mental side down yet so defenses can take risk without fearing JG will recognize where to go with the ball. Hope I'm wrong. I've mentioned how impressed I was with KY and each and every week I hear that it's all smoke and mirrors yet KY continues to be the more physical team in most cases. This KY team is better than our Tennessee team this time around. This is one of KY's best chances in decades and likely anytime in the near future to get one in Neyland. They are very senior laden and lose a bunch after this year. I also question how much our guys are into it. Last week was very meh and makes me wonder if many have checked out. They seem beat down mentally. Hopefully I'm dead wrong because I've thrown up twice while typing this.
We're throwing down field today auburn style, we got to catch em to beat em. Need to own top.

I’m not so sure about that. If I remember correct, UK has very tall DBs. Might not be the best game plan to throw jump balls frequently.

That's the only thing that has worked lately. We were close a uscjr, had we caught couple those toss-up throws we probably win .

I don't know if it is the worst OL in D1 or not, but I do know that it is a worse OL than the OLs you brought up.

I agree that the OL has gotten somewhat better at pass protection, at least enough that JG now only gets knocked on his ass after releasing rather than getting sacked as much But across the line these guys aren't big and strong enough to get any push in the running game. And the constant reshuffling off the OL has made it difficult for them to get any real continuity among the group.

It makes it extremely difficult to get consistent production when you can't run the ball and are forced to throw screens and 50/50 balls all the time. Defenses can simply rush 4 and keep 7 back and blitz at their luxury.

We really need to stop with the whole “best fan base in America” nonsense if there’s a lot of Kentucky fans at the stadium

Wouldn’t be surprised to see a trick play on special teams for a big momentum swing. They’ve been unsuccessful with onside kicks but keep in mind they practice these in other areas on special teams.
