Again, itās Minnesota. Itās like wake forest starting 9-0 and complaining about their conference or saying they āshould win these gamesā. Minnesota doesnāt have top tier anything about their program. Roster, facilities, recruiting, money anything. So when they play teams like Purdue, Rutgers, Nebraska etc itās not the same as when a school with top recourses does. They have also destroyed the last 3 teams they played leading up to leading the whole game basically and beating #4 Penn State.
The dude is 9-0 at Minnesota after taking WMU to a N6 bowl and giving Wisconsin all they could handle. If you canāt see the good coaching in that idk what to tell you.
Hank, we're celebrating an awesome win by Tennessee where our coaches made great halftime adjustments and managed a win in a rivals cold, hostile stadium with a bunch of tired beat up players that few gave a chance of winning especially not by a 4th and goal goal line stand..... and you're talking about how great another team's coach is.
Fans canāt get pat Georgia State. Not even remotely the same team. I remember when Kentucky lost to Western Kentucky with Taggart as coach. Lost to MTSU.
You question their hatred for Tennessee? Especially after we ruined their season last year?
Youāre right. Minnesota is a blue blood. Always have been. Their roster is absolutely loaded with 4 and 5 stars all over the field and should be cake walking through every team they played. You win bud.Lmfao.... Itās not even close to comparable to Wake forest Football and you know it. Those 2 sentences alone make me not even read the rest of your pointless statement. We are all dumber for having read any portion of that statement or anything else you have said in the last hour.
There were times we had 8 in the box, but then Gran went 4 wide and we had to adjust back.W
I know there is agreement that the second half the adjustments on D worked. Well - somewhat. They allowed UK to control the ball and reduced our possessions on O the entire game by playing bend, don't break. It all worked out because of Chaney, JG and the receivers refused to lose and got going in the third Q. The players on D were trying, the scheme was bent. Gran kept running to the offside and the officials allowed the OT to hold the DE the entire game. To beat that you need to be in man coverage outside because you are not going against a real QB. That would leave 7-8 in the box every play. Much of the time our DC and HC had a nickel package on the field with 6 and less in the box. That failed miserably IMO. It was nearly death by a thousand cuts. Thankfully on the last goal line series the DC had no other options and UK played their O straight up instead of using misdirection and counters.
In essence, the defensive players compensated for the coaches in the second half last night.
JG got shaky again in the 4th quarter, started throwing late. Don't get why he's so inconsistent every game. Hope he heals with the off weak and has a good finish to the season.
You laughed at the term hostile. You obviously disagree with Mr. Webster on the definition... Doesn't have anything to do with Death Valley. No lol Iām sure they do but Iām not gonna act like we went into Death Valley and pulled off a victory either. We have way better players than UK and we shouldāve won. I said a few weeks ago the only loss that would be acceptable the back hand was @ Mizzou. Vandy, SC, UK, and UAB are inferior rosters than us. We are taking care of business now which i gave the staff a ton of credit for keeping this locker room and team together after their start. That within itself is far more impressive than any game plan you could come up with. Iāve even gave Chaney a lot of credit for fixing the OL and really completely changing what he traditionally does on offense.
My biggest knock on Pruitt and co has been that they lost and even got dominated by bad coaches and/or bad opposing rosters. Will muschamp is a bad football coach, Derek mason is an awful football coach with a bad team. GA state was a bad football team, BYU is a bad football team etc.
so instead of being like @Bassmaster_Vol who is like a dog chasing traffic looking for excuses defending our coach whether itās was butch or Pruitt. Like when he said we have āthe least talented team in the SEC east by farā. Or blaming all the upperclassmen for struggles. I called out bad losses for what they were. Bad losses. We have had the tools to beat these teams and now that this staff has made the adjustments especially on defense this season has became really enjoyable. I do like Pruitt and i really like some of his assistants too. I can tell you from hearing it first hand from Kyle that rocker is really under appreciated is here. I also still think itās ok to have doubts about Pruitt too though. Next year is going to be a huge year for this staff bc they are losing about 10 guys from the previous staff That are carrying this team right now. But once again Iāll give them the credit they deserve on that too for taking some of those players and making them better.
Rant over but long story short the bitterness from me was caused by a lot of fans putting so much blame on these hold over players acting like they were Carson Newman level and inventing terms like āpaper 4 starsā to make up for the time it takes to change a culture, get a team to buy in and let this staff learn to be better coaches,,,, which they have.
Literal sense? Sure. I thought we were talking a though place to play hostile. Any stadium would be hostile according to that even If we played at UTC.You laughed at the term hostile. You obviously disagree with Mr. Webster on the definition... Doesn't have anything to do with Death Valley. View attachment 237421
