One thing that doesn’t get talked about enough. Our offense doesn’t care about time of possession. They aim to score fast and often. They aren’t controlling the clock. All of that to say that the defense will be on the field a lot more than most teams. And will naturally give up more offensive statistics from our opponents. I think we need to take that into account and realize that’s just the way it’s gonna be. As long as we win does it really matter?

4-0.

Agreed.

You can tell any story that you want to with statistics. You can also be spoiled and lazy with statistics.

We play the way that we play for a reason. I have said multiple times that our staff understands our defensive shortcomings. We play a bend-don't-break defense to keep the other team in front of us and make them COMPLETE perfect drives with TDs. This puts a lot of pressure on the opposing QB to be perfect. This puts a lot of pressure on the opposing offense as a whole to finish every drive with a TD. We put a lot of pressure on the opposing staff to make decisions like going for it on fourth or converting for 2 points after TDs.

As long as our offense is humming along, we are ok with taking damage on defense.

To your point, it creates stats that makes it seem like we are more vulnerable than we are.

I even think our defense maybe isn't as bad as many think.

We had four stops against FL. The missed FG, one punt, AR fumble and the last play.

Also if it were a normal game Napier isn't going for it every time, so we at least have a couple more stops.

Hopefully thats what we see Saturday. Four to six plus stops. We are capable and I know Florida's offense wasn't too great before they played us, but I think it's clear it's better than LSU's.

What I do enjoy is their ability to slow down and burn clock when needed. That is possible by having an effective running game with good backs and a QB that has the ability to run.
