Good analysis, nick. Thanks for the efforts you put in. IMO they are UK without the element of surprise that Leary was on O. UK had a bye week to prepare, Mizzou had a tough week on the road at Athens. Now they have to play our high octane O at uptempo.

The negative is that Banks always shizzes the bed a couple of games a season with his game plans and in-game adjustments. I'm betting this year it was UF and UK.

So, I'm going a little different direction this week. When Heup and Banks know in advance what to emphasize they have been good at it for the most part. They had extra time to strategize ahead with the easy week against UConn. I do not see Mizzou as capable of adding much in the way of "wrinkles" to either side of the ball due to talent disparity and Drink being who Drink is. Banks and Heup have to spy Cook. It does not have to be the same LB each play, just make sure he is accounted for in the designed runs and scrambles. The added benefit is they keep a run oriented LB in the box against their RB. Spy Cook, give the CB some S help over top with Burden and play man/quarters. The secondary is starting to develop some depth with young guys. Mizzou cannot stop our O consistently, it has found its identity. The officials will probably be more neutral in this one because B-Ham wants a big UGA/UT marquee game the next week as they plot the UGA/Bama SECCG. I see ...

They're going to take away the run, and play Zone. And blitz. Dorktitz will be prepped with plenty of short, quick passes and screens. I'm sure the defensive calls are on their wrists. All passes will go in direction of the blitz.

I posted about this in the football talk thread. That’s a very big jump in the line this early with the money spread not being that different. Would you agree?

It is. I wonder if there is something to the Burden ankle injury.

I did listen to this mornings Locked On Mizzou. No talk of the Tennessee game. Just wrapping up the uga game. Nothing of note. But I plan to listen to it all week.

Didn’t think about that. After the adrenaline wears off, it’s usually worse than originally thought.

I'm having a difficult time understanding "vols suspect defense".

#22 in ppg allowed
#14 in rpg allowed
#45 in passing ypg allowed
#30 sack % rate

Yeah I know we can go third and banks and not look aggressive at times, but to call this defense suspect is difficult to understand. Especially with how the statistics have improved yearly. Our offense has the ball a fourth of the time in most games lol.

Sorry for my rant, but I'm just very happy with how the defense has played this season. Cook may light us up, but our defense has been pretty solid for us. Other than Leary, we shut down big time passing receivers like leggett and smith (a&m). Hopefully we can do the same to Misery receivers and get the W.

Egregiously crooked referee-ing is the only thing that can make our defense suspect. With even calls we get pressure

Came here to post this. Game score will be in the upper 20s/low 30s. Winner wins 28-24, I just don’t know who that is.
Anytime I hear 'Good passing offense, stout defense' thrown TN's way. I think how that plays against our weaknesses.

Howseves, I think we are playing with a newfound confidence. Joe is seeing the field. Playing at Missouri is like playing at Vandy.

28-24, Vols.

That Ugh-a loss should have taken some wind out of their sails, think we catch them battered and mentally checked out a little.

Mizzoo has been having a magical season while many of us feel our season has been a bit disappointing, yet....

My goodness, we should have beaten UF and we had Bama on the ropes. Fricking crooked refs and zone defense.

I think we find the right mix of tight coverage & qb pressure to even out our defensive success. . .

We at least need to roll out the defensive gameplan from a&m. . . I may go permanently cross-eyed if we trot out the gata gameplan again. . .
Press coverage is the way....I despise zones unless it's 3rd and 20..lol...

Yup, cutting to the chase those two things were the major causes of the L's.

Call offensive holding on Mizzou early and often (as warranted) and the behavior will desist.

Then it's a ball game and not yet another case of Birmingham racketeering.

LFG! 🍊
I believe they will call a neutral game , "they" need us to look good before the game against georgia, Missouri is no longer useful to "them" and will not be protected.
And yes, I believe the networks and the leagues work together to push certain scenarios or narratives, not quite wrestling, but very close.
