Recruiting Forum: Official Ohio Pre-Game/Game Thread

Not even close. They aren't in the same conversation as guys like Cam, Tebow, and Zeke.

Maybe, but we may never know. I still think Hurd and Dobbs would be putting up Heisman type numbers in that system. Not all spread offenses are created equal, and the version we run < that one.

Shut up Mahoney! If I have anything to do with it you'll be lucky to make it to the end of the season. I may be a lame duck but I still sign the paychecks around here.

Alright I'll be Mahoney but you're still the jock strap guy.

Auburn, Ohio state & Florida (twice) did NOT run pro style.

Yep. Nor did Nebraska in the 90s. Those teams you named- except for Ohio St, which had first round talent it turns out at just about every position, were 6-8 years ago. The defenses have caught up to this type of offense, like they always do. Nothing wrong with keeping certain aspects of the offense, but as a philosophy, the offense that stands the test of time is the pro style.

Or do we not realize that things change?

The issue isn't a non pro style system. It's Butch's implementation of it.

Offense will be opened up more, Buchanon is gonna have to play huge. Martin has to start over Moseley.

I am truely concerned about this team at this point, not because we dont have the talent, but the scheme is not being coached and delivered.

I think Cam is a sprained Achillies. I sprained mine and it was more painful then the broken Femur or torn MCL. It took forever to feelbetter.

Look do we look good right now Hell no can we get better we will see. We are 3-0 and that's the key. Nobody in the country this year looks better than anybody. FSU just got killed by UL. Bama is losing at halftime to ole miss. Folks lets chill.

Florida struggled with UMass and don't have any real weapons on offense that scare me. At this point do we look better naw but let's play the game on Saturday 1st. I WILL NEVER CANT A LOSE until it happens.

I see all this 3-0 crap, and that's all well and good. I'm sure we are all happier that we are 3-0 than we would be otherwise.

But the fact is that we are trending down in coaching, in execution, and in health. If you subscribe to the theory that the win is all that matters, that's all well and good, but that argument isn't good enough for those that take a look at the actual process.

And so far this season, the process looks like dog sh!t.

No it's not. It's even trending into the NFL

Actually it's trending down in the NFL. Three years ago, it was actually an offense that existed in the NFL. Now a handful of offenses run certain read plays, but the offense has seen its salad days in the NFL especially.

Those teams also had offensive lines.

I don't know what salad days are, but I'd tend to agree with Jay here.
