There's no argument. Heupel has clearly explained it in the postgame press conference, and it's not because of preserving feelings. It was for the exact reason everyone here has said.

So, we now have a correct interpretation and an incorrect, illogical one.

he pulled back for strategic reasons

It’s legitimately insane to think that Heupel took it easy on OU.

We full on turtled the entire second half. It was wild to see in that type of game.

Not a fan of conservative offense but I acknowledge that it was probably the right call tonight. The only way OU was getting back in the game tonight was by their pass rush forcing turnovers.

Defense was phenomenal until late in the fourth when they got a bit undisciplined. The DL is just silly.

Field sucked.

Glad we get a week off. Get that offensive line healthy and figure out some things in pass pro. That's the biggest barrier between this team and its ceiling. Go Vols.
