A lot of those great catches Callaway made this year, he was running the wrong route. He just got open and the QB found him. If we're going to win this game, our playmakers are going to have to find ways to make plays.

Tim Priest was right-- the players are going to have to rise above their coaching to win.

I really think this offense asks too much of the WR's. They don't allow them to be creative and athletic. That's why they are all interchangeable and no alpha ever emerges. It requires perfect precise route running and perfect precise passing to be successful. There is no feel for space or room to trust your gut imo.

I believe this is why the only time our offense ever looks explosive is when our backs are against the wall and we absolutely have to score a TD.

Everything about this offense telegraphs what's coming. Five seasons in and the video of how it works and is called is already catalogued. The O scheme blows. Great individual efforts have carried it in the past.

This is what I was getting at earlier. I think the system somewhat inhibits the receivers whether it’s complex, overly technical or whatever...

It’s not complex, it’s just bad. Plays are slow developing, QB’s have no idea how to go through their progressions (if they even have any), and they run the same 4 or 5 bad plays and never throw the ball downfield so the defense just sits back and waits for runs and screens. It’s a high school offense.

Problem with Neyland right now is that our student body sucks. They are mid tier level. UGA way better, Bama is way better, Florida, uscjr, etc. way better.

I think about the amazing Marquez North catch from Worley to beat South Carolina. Our backs were against the wall and we threw it up and let a playmaker make a play. He literally never made another great play I can think of his whole career here. He was obviously super talented.

This offense is garbage through and through. It's not about Larry Scott or any other assistant. It's the head man and his stubbornness to prove he can win with his own plays. By doing this he has done a disservice to this fan base and the players he recruited. He should not still be our coach.
