I love the tools Malone has. I hate that he refuses to sell out to catch the ball. That sends a message to his teammates and the fans. More importantly for him, he is selling himself short as well as his potential future NFL career. We all see it. If the pass hits him in stride or he is positioned right, he usually catches it and can do good things with it. That 3rd down drop late in the game was classic of the bad side of his game. Jumps, ball hits hands, he turns his head to see if he's going to get hit, gets hit, drops the ball. Key point in the game and he's concerned about getting hit, not attacking the ball with a death grip to help the team win like JJ would do it. Although there are many other examples (good and bad), that one play shows his mindset because it has happened many times before in different seasons. Unacceptable. Especially for a starter on a top 10 team.
There is still time for his to change this. A season and a half left to change perceptions.
