Didn't we recover two fumbles inside the 10?

Defense played great, but our offense was definitely the beneficiary of Va-Tech miscues and the defense stepping up.

Their offense scored the second TD from lackadaisical play by Justin Martin. Our defense turned them over. And if our offense isn't up to par yet I'm fine with it. Our defense will close out games this year. Tuttle is that DUDE!!!

Offense should be much better.

Couple turnovers were just bad plays by Va-Tech plus a bad punt with a lucky bounce.

I thought Martin got shoved from behind and should have been called.

But we did capitalize and score touchdowns on those drives. I feel like in previous years we would've settled for field goals most times.

This defense is nasty and they're going to continue to make turnovers left and right putting our offense in good position. We don't need to apologize for capitalizing on turnovers, that's part of the game. And hopefully we do that the rest of the year. If so it'll be a big reason why we make it to Atlanta.

Yes, he is that dude! Very happy to see him get some meaningful snaps last night and pick up where he left off. It will be huge and getting him back to 100% and confident in his leg for two weeks down the road.

From where we were, it was so hard to see who all was injured. Is Kirkland the only significant injury that we may lose for a while?

Was that the play that they're running back broke for the 70 yard touchdown run? I saw one of our DBs come flying in and completely miss him… Couldn't see that he may have gotten blocked.

Yeah Kirk is the only one to worry about. Kongbo and Kmac looked just fine

One other thing is why were our defensive backs playing in such soft coverage for the first quarter and pretty much the entire game? Maybe that was our game plan was to encourage the quarterback to throw? From where we were sitting it's saying that we were in a lot of zone.

Defense is playing well and has gotten better as both games went on.

Offense is very concerning is all I'm saying.

We weren't playing soft coverage all game. Reason their QB wasn't able to get rid of the ball fast. Go watch, their best plays were QB scrambles. And the longer the game went the more our depth just whooped on them. Lol

Morning after notes. Why not:

1. VT punter "in" kicked his coverage a couple of times. Vols STs jump on it.

2. Sure Tuttle, KMac, O'B played well, let's not forget KV play.

3. Hurd's yards were nasty. It was suggested he had 99 and he had been in so many scrums I thought he had like 54. So like 45 yards were with 3 d-line men hanging all over him.

4. Dang, Josh Dobbs is a good open field runner.

5. Byrd is going to bust loose soon.

6. Shout outs to J. Jennings and A. Kamara.

7. Come on o-line, let Wolf and Croom play!

Bonus note: TKjr and Micah Abernathy, uh huh. I mean really the entire defense. The notes start getting a bit unwieldy with all the shout-outs there.

Afterthought: Ohio will be no pushover. Vols have an interesting OOC schedule this year. Will serve them well.

Ohio isn't the same team they were last year. They are actually down this year. We win pretty easily IMO

I know they beat Kansas. The same Kansas that rushed the field after beating Rhode Island last week.

Abernathy and TKjr are extreme upgrades to Randolph/McNeil. Not even close how much better we are. And some people were worried about safety play heading into the season. We've got 5-6 safeties better(I believe)than the starters from last year on this team(Gaulden, Abernathy, TKjr, Berry, Warrior, and Griffin).
