Sec is the most talented conference just look at nfl draft picks every year but the extreme lack of quality coaches waters the conference down big time.

The SEC was the best conferences back when it had the best coaches. Saban, Meyer, Richt, Miles, Petrino, and Spurrier. Now the Big Ten collectively has the best coaches. Meyer, Franklin, Harbaugh, Chryst, and Dantonio.

I don’t give a crap about what they did in 2015 and 2016. I don’t see any playmakers on offense. The oline is solid. The defense is okay.

They don’t play anyone this year. How do they skate with these schedules every year?

They are good but in no way should they be considered great.

They will be competitive in a big game just like the last two years. Their style hasn’t changed.

It would be really weird to fire him if we win. I'm expecting a loss, but without knowing for sure I'd hesitate to say he's definitely done.

I keep going back to I have a hard time believing he coaches in Knoxville again. It could get ugly on homecoming and I just don't see them risking that in front of a lot of alumni. JMO

Ok part 2

Is that significant in a coaching candidate or target? I would venture to say not many coaches have been fired after a conference win.

Leave it to Tennessee to do it the unconventional way. Fire a coach after a win lol. I'd see it as a win win, but it would be kind of weird.

Nah that's not right. Unless it's a big time bowl, often times teams don't really "come to play" in bowl games. That Iowa team we throttled in 2014 didn't want to be there. Tennessee didn't want to be there in 03 when we played Maryland in the Peach Bowl.

Still the closest u get to a level playing field.

What if Butch doesn't want to coach in Neyland again?
