This is still a mess for Florida whether they fire him or not.

If we can make the right hire we will be sitting pretty. I feel like we are gonna have to get lucky though. That’s pretty much what happens for all teams that make a good hire. They get the right guy at the right place at the right time.

So to recap today so far:

Florida is going to get rid of Mac before UT gets rid of Butch.

Cade Mays is on his way to Clemson.

UT is going to lose for the 2nd time in over 30 years to KY.

Is this accurate Volnation?

True, but if he fired Butch last week and then they lost at KY then they'd be saying the same things so if he thinks Butch gives them the best chance o win and at the same time buys him a couple of weeks to get his ducks in a row, I think it's a good strategy. He also has an obligation to these seniors to get them the best chance of winning.

It really depends whether you think Butch increases the chance of winning. I think Butch and the descending cloud of doom surrounding him is the kiss of death to our season. The way he uses personnel has caused friction between the players and it's hurting the locker room. Could an interim fix this in a week? Not entirely. But when something isn't working week after week, a new voice can light a spark. This team desperately needs a spark.

It's all moot now. Butch will be on the sidelines tonight, so the die is cast. Go Vols!

From what I've been told there's a ton of dissension with the assistant coaches and there was no clear person to put in charge. Butch may have been the only thing holding things together.

At this point, especially if we lose tonight, I don't even care. Fire him tomorrow. Don't want to see him wearing orange and white ever again.
