What he would be relaying is not a half truth if they haven't set one.

That's the point I'm making. If Currie decides to do it tomorrow at 6pm today did he feed Hyams a half truth at midnight last nite or this morning? I don't think so. The only way that works is if he knew he was calling one and just told Hyams one hadn't been set yet. Hyams went into last nite thinking Jones may actually coach here in 18'.

My optimism is coming from a plan that is being followed.

I am not hearing anything positive to report now. It is business as usual.

Which was always part of the plan.

I am not riding on the promises of poster x or poster y and that helps me keep a level head.

Nothing has changed on my end for over a month and that to me is comforting.

I have faith this will end well.

It's a shame that people can't be patient. I'm not in an uproar right now because:

A. It's a form of entertainment and not something that will affect my life.

B. I know that Butch will be gone and that good times are ahead.

I don't understand why people are demanding Currie to be fired already. He's not done anything that warrants him to be fired.

All your sources who told you Butch was gone this week, that week, or the other... you better think twice before buying what they are selling on Gruden. Firing info has been weekly discredited, and we think they have the keys to the Kingdom?

It is so similar to the 2012 edition it's hard to believe. I don't fault the people in that thread for believing either, they just want some hope. From anyone.

I think Georgia was when decision was made.. I think the belief is that with Jones still in place and the players supporting him through their game efforts they have the best chance to avoid losing 8 or more games. Possibly getting bowl eligible.

With no interim candidates having a realistic chance to be the next head coach, I think the belief is that the players will quit with their efforts and certainly lead to an 8 or 9 loss season.

I think this is what is delaying the situation.

If they could agree (Jones / Currie) to an announced resignation soon with Jones leaving after Vanderbilt game, I believe the players would continue to play hard for him and try to avoid the 8 or more losses and try for a bowl game. They might not be able to avoid it under any circumstances because they are playing so bad and are so badly coached.

We may be resigned to our first ever 8 or 9 loss season under any scenario.

The fact you keep reitering the "better days are coming" tells me Currie knows not only that (Jones is gone) but who he has to replace him.

The satisfaction of Jones being fired doesn't equal "better" just by itself IMO. History tells us you can get it wrong.

I hope that's what you re saying, because you wouldn't be the only one I've heard that from.

I'm surprised that Currie is not at least going to make a statement. If they are going to keep Jones through the rest of the year, then go ahead and say it so that everyone is off of this coaching watch.

I think Currie would be best served to make a statement. I think the fans deserve to hear something from him. I think it would only be fair to the players, coaches, their families, and the prospects to have some kind of idea what is happening.
