Apathy has set in. It took longer than it should have. Jones has accomplished all he is going to here. I remember as a young boy being so excited to find a Bobby Scott football jersey under the Christmas tree. I guess I have some fond memories. We all do. I don't get to go to many games due to disability but had Southern Miss tickets lined up a few weeks ago. I will burn the tickets gladly at this point. I don't want anyone going in my place. We should not have to put up with the blatant incompetence in our administration. I will look on to see how things go but honestly I am considering just quitting following college football entirely. It would take a quick strong hire to keep me and I just do not see it happening. I just turned 58 and I do not see any way with Currie and Davenport making the decisions Tennessee will return to prominence. They don't have the desire or understanding to do so and I highly doubt they even understand what Tennessee football use to be like. Move over Nebraska and make room for another failed program.

If he doesn't know for sure how (or who) his "plan" is gonna end with, he's setting himself up to be the target that Jones has been over the last month. You can already see the shift in attention from Jones to Currie. Which makes it very interesting from that standpoint. IMO he either knows who he is getting (big fish that everybody in hindsight was satisfied in waiting on the plan to work out for )
or he's taking a he!! of gamble.

Anybody watch McElwain’s press conference during halftime?

Sort of lolzy that that dude is about to get canned for dishonesty, his press conference was pretty transparent and acknowledged that even with 2 SEC East championships he hasn’t lived up to expectations.

Meanwhile in Tennessee, everything is fine and this giant dumpster fire we’ve got going is, according to the guy who is in charge, just our new method of waste removal.

I'm almost certain his info was fed to him by the AD. What motivation would they have to provide half-truths? Only thing I can think of is they may be waiting on BOT approval, and they just needed to get something out becuase they were taking heat.

But at this point, I really believe they are keeping him this week.
