A "head start" is a VN freak out myth.
If UF hires a coach that we want, then they were going to regardless of timing. They either bid more or were more attractive in another area.
Not because they fired JM sooner.

I really hope that turns out to be true. I really do. I will eat all the crow you can serve me about my thoughts on Currie. But right now he is looking extremely incompetent. And the SC and Ky losses are at his feet. Florida would’ve fired Butch after Ga. but Currie didn’t. Because of that we have 2 losses to 2 garbage teams that we were vastly superior to in talent. Currie’s fault

How does UF firing McElwain change things for Currie?

It puts more pressure on Currie because now everyone is really asking, what are you waiting on Currie?

Some will say it gives Florida an advantage because they are first to make a move. I don't know that is as big of a deal as some others think.

But from a perception standpoint it makes Florida look better because they were decisive in making a decision.

I will think he’s a fool for not firing Butch earlier. But he will have redeemed himself for hiring an elite coach. And I’ll apologize to him for how angry I am at him right now. But I’ll believe it when I see it
