For years around here people have said there is some grand plan that the masses just dont get when it comes time to shop coaches and ADs.

Its never happened. Its always been crap coaches, crap ADs, and weak leadership. The appearance of incompetence and erratic behavior may sometimes be the machinations of some multidimensional plan...

More often than not, its just incompetence.

Ill believe this thing is going right when they trot someone out to the podium thats worth a **** and and not a second sooner.

Yep.

Anyone think these comments from Hubbs has purpose? Remember, he’s the mouthpiece of the UTAD. He makes his money and gets his info to break things because he speaks what they want him to speak.

I’m thinking he’s setting up Currie with all of these comments wanting to know what he’s doing and needing to make a statement...setting him up for the grand slam when he names the new coach (basing this off of it being Gruden), and Currie being an instant legend to the fanbase.

Not sure there’s a grand plan in place, but I am sure Hubbs doesn’t get critical of the AD on a whim.

So things are either really good or really bad. Lol

Lol.

well then I am sure they are plenty of examples where firing the coach early allows the school to get their "guy" quickly.

Your quote: “Is this board not smart enough to learn from the history of these type things?”

Can you provide the history you are referring to? Surely this argument isn’t so elementary that you would rely on one coaching search last year as the basis for your “history” argument.

I’m hoping your position is stronger than this, though I have my doubts.

Before the season I said Mac was on the hot seat just as much as Butch and could be fired mid season. Ppl on here thought I was crazy. They don't like him down here at all

This is maddening. Florida seriously just fired a guy who won the east two out of his three years on the job and we continue to hold on to a guy who's lost twice to Vanderbilt, twice to South Carolina, and who just lost to Kentucky. Currie better have a stud coach on the hook or he needs to be fired.

Because the administration didn't just look at W/L record, he made zero improvement and it made people mad. Had Currie been here last football season Butch wouldn't even be coach rn

This was posted in the FF. Everyone get behind it

Butch Jones STOLE checkered Neyland from the fans. Let's give him the fans vote on him.

Us as fans have a vote. I hope, hope, hope this has been enough for Currie. But let's show no doubt.

There is a #emptyneyland going. Fans get behind this leave no doubt on what we will tolerate.
We all are screaming to fire Butch, fire Currie.

It's simple join empty Neyland movement if Butch remains head coach through tomorrow midday.

This will force the change that is needed. And the fans only vote.

Burn tickets on social media. Tag in Currie,Jones, and sports media outlets.

We all support the players. Let's help them remove the man (Butch Jones) that is hurting their development and causing them losses.

Heck forget about losing a new generation of fans this administration is about to lose the old generation also

I grew up in Tennessee, have a BA and MA from UT, my grad student office was in South Stadium Hall, I run statistical analyses on UT football for fun, and I still travel to Knoxville for a game or two each each season (even though I'm employed by another SEC school).

If I'm about to walk, then just think of how many casual fans have already bounced...

About to start a detailed thread of the timing of the biggest hires in college football. Only one will be centered around an early firing. That's Dabo and we damn sure don't have a Dabo on staff.

People need to keep in mind Florida is firing their coach today because they are trying to weasel out of the buyout. They can’t wait til December to fire him with cause for something he did in October.

The timing has everything to do with $12.9m and ZERO to do with being the first to enter the coaching search or demanding more wins from their coach.

I saw the post where LWS said they are worried about players going to class and staying together. Gillespie would have 0 issues making that happen imo. He is a guy that will be wanted by schools all over the country and won’t have to spend a bunch of time finding a new job. He seems to have the respect of all of his guys as well. Jmo

So when all is said and done he trots an "A" list coach out to the podium are you still going to think he's a fool?

Well, one thing we will all know-- if he doesn't "trot" out an A list guy, he will be on an even hotter seat than Butch and will look like a fool. The fanbase will make his life miserable... ball is in his court now with FL making a decisive move... makes him look like an idiot unless he's got someone locked up.

Again, the timing of hirings and firings from a 1994 or 2006 or 2011 coaching search have absolutely nothing to do with who Tennessee/Florida hire.

Nothing.

People hype gillespie up too much. He’s a running backs coach. Your main job is to recruit guys so good that they don’t need coaching. That job is 95% recruiting.

And yet, here they are, still out in front on the coaching search while we still have the caretaker -- perception is everything
