No way of knowing you are right. Team is still playing hard. They just aren't any good. I don't see how naming an interim changes any of that.

6-6 bowl games aren't exactly a reward. Small potatoes. The hire is what matters.

Nothing about this is fun though. It would be much easier to tolerate if the fanbase could go full coach search mode. That's coming though rest assured.

Yeah I think interim coaches get a little spark for a game, maybe two. They benefit from the cloud being lifted and the team rallies around the new guy for a minute.

I think ideally you name an interim with a couple games left. Not in October. But I don't think an interim will help much as this team hasn't quit trying. They just suck.

Unless there is division between the assistant coaches which has been widely reported. Plus I agree this team is just bad either way. The OL is poorly developed, the DL is too weak, and neither have any depth. An interim isn't going to fix that.

The only problem I see, and I've said it before, is the longer he stays silent, the higher the expectations become that he has a big name in his pocket. The longer these Grumors go, the harder it's going to be when Chad Morris is hired.

Honestly, I'm going to be fine with a Brohm, Morris, Wilson hire. I think these are good coaches. However, I know for a fact I'll be in the minority on it when the time comes. People will be outraged.

Chad Morris is an absolute stud and is doing everything the right way. Top recruiter and coordinator under a great program and then steps into a cesspool of a program and turns it around quick.

Imagine if he beats UCF this weekend. I would absolutely love that hire.

I personally don't think protracted misery is good for anybody-- players, fans, the university or the current staff. When you decide to end something, end it and move forward. But we're past the inflection point now. An interim might provide a brief spark, but any hopes for a good season are gone.

If a bowl game means something to the players, they can come together, rise above the coaching and get to a winning season for the seniors. There's enough talent on this team to win 3 out of the next 4 games. They're going to have to want it, though, and every team left on the schedule could want it more.

Well I would agree with you but we play Mizz first then LSU and Vandy.

I thought it set up the way you were saying until I looked. I don't see how you can bring him back after one more loss.

I don't remember there being this much gnashing of teeth over the timing of DD firing. Maybe I'm wrong. Seems like the fanbase went full Gruden search and didn't even bother with when DD got fired.

Not sure if you can get it in Charlotte, but if you can anything from Trophy Brewing Company out of Raleigh they are really good. My go to every time I go back home. Favorite is Golden Gloves IPA.

Also if you can get some Aviator Brewing Company, there are pretty good too but also out of Raleigh.
