Stop that now, both Hamilton and Evans for Bama are better. They are much more physical as well. We do have a star at LB and he's being benched by the coaches instead of being allowed to grow into the position. Smh DUMB

If you think that Bituli is better than Jumper, you must think you are smarter than Sgt Carter?

Agree. Truth is we don't know who Kirkland is anyway. We probably have 2 with Bituli and Ignont, but will not know until Doofus is gone.

When did I crown him? I said he has more talent and tools as a passer than Hurts. I don’t think there’s any denying that. But Hurts has a year and a half experience and better coaching. JG has played one game and you’re on here acting like he sucks and will never amount to anything. SC is not great, not terrible, as I said, not bad. And I don’t buy te prevent crap. He had only attempted 10 passes. They didn’t let him play. Although a few times he simply held the ball too long or receivers weren’t open. Rookie mistakes. It was his first game. Even when they were in prevent, he was putting the ball on the money. That last pass for the game winner was perfect. They weren’t in prevent. Butch should’ve been fired after Ga, SC is used against him because we are more talented and still lost and now we are 0-3 in the SEC. This isn’t hard.

I agree they didn’t turn him lose against USCe. You keep mentioning that he only threw 10 times before the last drive. He should have had 20 throws by that point, but didn’t because he can’t move past his first read well, yet, and in some cases guys weren’t open.

JG would start over Hurts 😂 I need some of what B.B. is on

Soooo you think Hurts is a good QB or good because he's at Bama? He dirt balls passes dude. That is with protection and a running game. He just runs well. You and your JG can't throw nonsense is hilarious. His arm talent would've beat Hurts out in that offense for sure last year. He's pro style guy with mobility. Tailor made for Bama. IMO

Not to mention the fact that 99% of VN have only seen JG get basically shutdown against a crappy SC team and other limited snaps that he was less than stellar during.

Shut down??? They let him throw the last series and he walked the football down the field. Play calls shut him down not him. Call slants and plays to take advantage of off coverage and not deep routes. Move Josh Smith to the slot and stop letting him play outside. He's not getting open on the edge. He didn't turn the ball over so how'd they shut him down?

With proper coaching Hurts wouldn’t be near the passer JG is. He’s played one game guys, and is coached by the RB’s coach from Utah State. Wait until he has real coaching and see how much he improves when he starts the season next year. He’ll get better throughout this season also with experience. There’s a reason JG was ranked higher than Hurts coming out of high school. Hurts is an athlete playing QB.

They are blind I see. In that system at Alabama JG would start. They don't really even play QBs that can only run but it's working so he's playing. JG would've been the choice last year. I'm sure with Kiffin having a say so he would've picked JG. That's his style of QB.

A poster named VFLnSFD has packaged up a pretty convincing narrative. I will not do it justice and it is still largely speculation but she good.

She mainly focuses on how this search has small incidents that seem inconsequential on the surface but could be profound.

1. Rumors of Butch wanting out last year
- Currie starts the wheels moving signified by Fulmers early involvement this year.

2. OrlandoVol posted that he played golf with an ESPN personality that advised the inside rumors were that Gruden was on the chopping block due to restructing and his huge contract.

OrlandoVol posted enough info that I could show you his work bio but will not. I take that as legit info.

3. Rumors of Gruden involved in Knoxville house searches dating back to June around same time as Fulmer's involvement

4. Gruden visits UT but in a more low key fashion than ever seen before

5. Visits an entire fraternity. Cites coincidence that Gruden's son could have gone to any school but chose UT and chose an agricultural fraternity known for one thing:
Handling Smokey on game days...

6. Gruden also rumored to have toured Cherokee and wife toured Knoxville/area with Fulmer's wife - sources include alleged family. The same family that did not speak out last time.

7. Following this visit multiple leaks of disparate posting styles advising that money is not an object for this search.

8. Leaks that Butch brokered a resignation which would technically allowed him to be a sitting coach while UT actually had negotiations.

9. Rumors Butch will coach until after KY. She confirmed his youngest son's last FB is early November, and Gruden is an Assistant coach.

Still ton of speculation but the timeline and coincidences are strong

No 5 is not true. He is not in an ag frat. I won’t name the one he is in but it is a regular frat. Gruden’s son used to drive one of my current employees around when he was a pledge. Said he was a nice kid, interested in music, indifferent on sports and never used the “you know who my dad is” card.

I could respect a poster saying JG can be better than Hurts but saying he is better right now might be the dumbest thing ever said on here.

On second thought nothing will ever be dumber than saying Cam was better than Peyton.

Can we please quit acting like butch and co are 2A high school coaches. Do you really think that if JG was that good a crappy coach could even stunt him that much.

He's better than the starter CLEARLY and wasn't starting.

Bituli is CLEARLY better than Jumper and doesn't start.

Wiggins is CLEARLY better than the other guys and it took 4-5 games for him to play.

Dobbs was CLEARLY better than Worley and didn't start.

Yeah you can openly question this staff on this nonsense.....

I would like to see posters understand schemes better. Butch's passing scheme stinks. People don't like me talking about Chaney being a better OC. He is. Not even close. He runs variations of Joe Tiller's passing concepts including some he picked up when he was coaching with the Rams. Much better thought out. As BrB is points out, trying running double slants or dig routes at various depths utilizing Smith at slot and Wolf split out a few yards to create spacing. This makes the d-backs think and choose. You get safeties trying to cover guys that have WR speed in Smith.

Butch's passing scheme is so simplistic it is easy for any D to cover.

We attack off coverage with deep routes. DUMB Where were the slants and WR screens early? Protecting a QB requires short pass plays and getting the ball out fast. Where were those play calls? The screen to the RB needs to be retired for a couple of games that's not helping him with defenses jumping it. Lol

Anybody that says Jalen Hurts is a good passer is watching an imposter. They lost the NC last year because of it and Chavis was even able to throttle his passing this season. JG is a much better passer when he has time. He just needs playing time and protection like Bama gives Hurts. Don't think he is as good at running.

They watch highlights, he's still BAD passing. The backup can throw for sure but Hurts is still bad.
