Stop that now, both Hamilton and Evans for Bama are better. They are much more physical as well. We do have a star at LB and he's being benched by the coaches instead of being allowed to grow into the position. Smh DUMB

When did I crown him? I said he has more talent and tools as a passer than Hurts. I dont think theres any denying that. But Hurts has a year and a half experience and better coaching. JG has played one game and youre on here acting like he sucks and will never amount to anything. SC is not great, not terrible, as I said, not bad. And I dont buy te prevent crap. He had only attempted 10 passes. They didnt let him play. Although a few times he simply held the ball too long or receivers werent open. Rookie mistakes. It was his first game. Even when they were in prevent, he was putting the ball on the money. That last pass for the game winner was perfect. They werent in prevent. Butch shouldve been fired after Ga, SC is used against him because we are more talented and still lost and now we are 0-3 in the SEC. This isnt hard.
JG would start over Hurts 😂 I need some of what B.B. is on
Not to mention the fact that 99% of VN have only seen JG get basically shutdown against a crappy SC team and other limited snaps that he was less than stellar during.
With proper coaching Hurts wouldnt be near the passer JG is. Hes played one game guys, and is coached by the RBs coach from Utah State. Wait until he has real coaching and see how much he improves when he starts the season next year. Hell get better throughout this season also with experience. Theres a reason JG was ranked higher than Hurts coming out of high school. Hurts is an athlete playing QB.
A poster named VFLnSFD has packaged up a pretty convincing narrative. I will not do it justice and it is still largely speculation but she good.
She mainly focuses on how this search has small incidents that seem inconsequential on the surface but could be profound.
1. Rumors of Butch wanting out last year
- Currie starts the wheels moving signified by Fulmers early involvement this year.
2. OrlandoVol posted that he played golf with an ESPN personality that advised the inside rumors were that Gruden was on the chopping block due to restructing and his huge contract.
OrlandoVol posted enough info that I could show you his work bio but will not. I take that as legit info.
3. Rumors of Gruden involved in Knoxville house searches dating back to June around same time as Fulmer's involvement
4. Gruden visits UT but in a more low key fashion than ever seen before
5. Visits an entire fraternity. Cites coincidence that Gruden's son could have gone to any school but chose UT and chose an agricultural fraternity known for one thing:
Handling Smokey on game days...
6. Gruden also rumored to have toured Cherokee and wife toured Knoxville/area with Fulmer's wife - sources include alleged family. The same family that did not speak out last time.
7. Following this visit multiple leaks of disparate posting styles advising that money is not an object for this search.
8. Leaks that Butch brokered a resignation which would technically allowed him to be a sitting coach while UT actually had negotiations.
9. Rumors Butch will coach until after KY. She confirmed his youngest son's last FB is early November, and Gruden is an Assistant coach.
Still ton of speculation but the timeline and coincidences are strong
Can we please quit acting like butch and co are 2A high school coaches. Do you really think that if JG was that good a crappy coach could even stunt him that much.
Agreed Chaney is Much BetterI would like to see posters understand schemes better. Butch's passing scheme stinks. People don't like me talking about Chaney being a better OC. He is. No even close. He runs variations of Joe Tiller's passing concepts including some he picked up when he was coaching with the Rams. Much better thought out. As BrB is points out, trying running double slants or dig routes at various depths utilizing Smith at slot and Wolf split out a few yards to create spacing. This makes the d-backs think and choose. You get safeties trying to cover guys that WR speed in Smith.
Butch's passing scheme is so simplistic it is easy for any D to cover.

Anybody that says Jalen Hurts is a good passer is watching an imposter. They lost the NC last year because of it and Chavis was even able to throttle his passing this season. JG is a much better passer when he has time. He just needs playing time and protection like Bama gives Hurts. Don't think he is as good at running.
