I think all of Starkville is actively seeking to get out of Starkville. No reason to single out Mullen.

I've never been there so I wouldn't know. I did some reading up on the 2012 Will Redmond recruiting issues that resulted in 2 years NCAA probation, a loss of 4 total scholarships, a loss of 4 total recruiting visits, and a show cause for one of the assistant coaches.

Last year, ESPN reported that Redmond faced NCAA scrutiny and that De'Vinner said the involved booster was Denton Herring. Also last year, Mississippi State wide receivers coach Angelo Mirando was said to have resigned for personal reasons, but ESPN reported he was involved in an NCAA investigation that also involved Redmond.

At the time, Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen criticized ESPN's reporting regarding Mirando and Redmond.

I feel the same.

Is what he did at Mississippi State comparable to what James Franklin did at Vandy?

State is more less the Vandy of the east. So I would say yes. He did it in the more difficult division.

Franklin converted it over in a better job. Some are not able to do that under a brighter light.

Well...I'm sitting here in the dark, surrounded by the enemy. I can hear the faint sound of rammer jammer fade away in the distance. The ever present flash of crimson and houndstooth darting in and out of the shadows sends a cold shiver down my spine. Not because I'm afraid, but because I am present in a world where such atrocities have become the norm. We take comfort in knowing the wave of crimson has become complacent, and their ranks are comprised of the conqured souls too weak to resist the rising tide. We'll make an early morning push to the front line in T Town. We'll rally at the door step of the Bear's house and infiltrate with an orange fury. With their overwhelming numbers, we'll wait for them to make the first charge. We won't sing Rocky Top until we see the whites in their eyes. The odds are against us and we might not get out alive, but one thing is for certain, we will give our all for Tennessee tomorrow.

Been saying it for a while, Butch is here at a minimum until Nov.

Unless he initiates and negotiates a resignation.

AD won't make move until he is ready.

I hope Butch comes out guns blazing tmw. Byrd at corner, JJ at safety with a club, Trey at left tackle, Bituli, Sapp, and Ignont in a 4-3 and kicks Bamas ass. Then quits and gets the F out and i never have to see him again.

Wish in one hand, poop in the other, and see which one fills up faster.

So butch is here til after uk game now? F

Butch is here possibly longer than that IMO. IMO if the back channels produced any type of mutual interest between Gruden or Kelly I think you will see movement quick. However, seeing that most likely our next coach is currently coaching, they are going to let this play out I think and see if Butch and Sexton renegotiate

If we lose 52-0 today and Butch isn’t fired, Currie is going to be under heat with this approach. It makes no objective sense.

Won 2 more regular season games than butch at a worse job in a tougher division.

Look at that schedule that year. Played no power 5 OOC game and got UK and Vandy from the East. It was nice beating 3 straight top 15 teams, but as Aesius pointed out, they all ended up 8-5.

I like Mullen and would be fine with him. But his record is not nearly as great when you dig into it. If Butch hadn't played a home and home with OU, we might still be talking about him as coach.

You get UK and Vandy every year at Tennessee.

We are a mike Debord away from being 5-1 right now. Mullen absolutely could do better than 9 regular season wins here.
