I’m calling it guys. I just woke up from a dream where we beat Bama 57-0 and Gen. Neyland was coaching the team.

You know it's bad when your rivals posters ask you to stop being so horrible. Lol

Four or five years ago I took those kinds of posts personally. I also took news articles about how far Tennessee has fallen personally. Now I don't. I look at our program with all our resources and advantages and just think, the people in charge are the ones that should be taking this personally. We have no excuse for being this consistently bad. There's no excuse for Tennessee being a 37 point underdog to anyone. It's certainly not the fans' fault. Heads really need to roll for this...

Well...I'm sitting here in the dark, surrounded by the enemy. I can hear the faint sound of rammer jammer fade away in the distance. The ever present flash of crimson and houndstooth darting in and out of the shadows sends a cold shiver down my spine. Not because I'm afraid, but because I am present in a world where such atrocities have become the norm. We take comfort in knowing the wave of crimson has become complacent, and their ranks are comprised of the conqured souls too weak to resist the rising tide. We'll make an early morning push to the front line in T Town. We'll rally at the door step of the Bear's house and infiltrate with an orange fury. With their overwhelming numbers, we'll wait for them to make the first charge. We won't sing Rocky Top until we see the whites in their eyes. The odds are against us and we might not get out alive, but one thing is for certain, we will give our all for Tennessee tomorrow.

You live in Nashville?

Them ****ers are everywhere now. It has to stop!

Imagine this scenario.....
It’s Sunday afternoon, you are driving home from Sunday go to meetin.....
You have your car radio on ESPN radio.
AND YOU HEAR THIS.....
“ESPNs Tom Rinaldi is reporting that Tennessee’s Butch Jones has agreed to a buyout and is no longer their Coach.
Rinaldi also reporting that Jon Gruden will be named the Vols new Coach on Monday”.

What do you do?
Drive into a ditch?
Drive home with no hands because (use your imagination)?
Don’t drive home...head to Knoxville to greet Gruden? :clapping:

Go home, make a baby and vow to name him Gruden?

Like you I really really wanted Butch to be a great coach. To get us back to the 10+ win seasons and heading to a Sugar Bowl every 2-3 years. That obviously didn't happen, but I respect the hell out of him. He got us out of where we were and back into having good talent on the roster. I refuse to nag on him because of what he has done for the university that I love and cherish. He made mistakes because he is human. Nobody on Earth would not have made zero mistakes when trying to bring us out of where we were after Dooley was coach. Looking back at it I think it was always going to take two coaches to get us away from being so horrible in the talent department. And I agree, the higher ups need to recognize that they need to get this program back on the right track and quick unless they want to see a very quick drop off in funds from the fanbase.

However, I say that to also say I believe much more in Currie than I did the last 2 AD's. The dude is running the search the right way. Keep it locked up and mouths shut. I don't care what the crazies in the fanbase say.

A poster named VFLnSFD has packaged up a pretty convincing narrative. I will not do it justice and it is still largely speculation but she good.

She mainly focuses on how this search has small incidents that seem inconsequential on the surface but could be profound.

1. Rumors of Butch wanting out last year
- Currie starts the wheels moving signified by Fulmers early involvement this year.

2. OrlandoVol posted that he played golf with an ESPN personality that advised the inside rumors were that Gruden was on the chopping block due to restructing and his huge contract.

OrlandoVol posted enough info that I could show you his work bio but will not. I take that as legit info.

3. Rumors of Gruden involved in Knoxville house searches dating back to June around same time as Fulmer's involvement

4. Gruden visits UT but in a more low key fashion than ever seen before

5. Visits an entire fraternity. Cites coincidence that Gruden's son could have gone to any school but chose UT and chose an agricultural fraternity known for one thing:
Handling Smokey on game days...

6. Gruden also rumored to have toured Cherokee and wife toured Knoxville/area with Fulmer's wife - sources include alleged family. The same family that did not speak out last time.

7. Following this visit multiple leaks of disparate posting styles advising that money is not an object for this search.

8. Leaks that Butch brokered a resignation which would technically allowed him to be a sitting coach while UT actually had negotiations.

9. Rumors Butch will coach until after KY. She confirmed his youngest son's last FB is early November, and Gruden is an Assistant coach.

Still ton of speculation but the timeline and coincidences are strong

6-6 with the change, lose one or two more without the change. It's that simple.

But all is forgiven with the right hire.

Look, I want an elite HC as much as everybody else and I do love Scott Frost as a potential star. But I do not get the naysaying on Mullen. Give him UT's ability to attract recruits and his offensive system/QB development you are looking at 10+ win seasons regularly. How many #1 rankings has UT achieved in the last decade plus? How many QB's has UT developed that are now starting for playoff teams since, well, PM? If you run a QB dominated O like most programs do, why would you not want one of the best in the CFB business at it? He can hire a better DC/staff in Knoxville than Starkville.

I do not doubt Mullen would be an improvement but I am skeptical of how much of one he would be and how well he would actually recruit.
