Casual football fans expect Tennessee to get crushed by Bama every year. They just don’t even think of Tennessee as being remotely in Bama’s league. That’s what gets me.

USC recently went with Clay Helton, Florida with McElwain, LSU with orgeron, and Texas with Tom Herman. Of all the names here, Herman was the hottest name coming into his current position. If Frost wins out and takes his conference, which looks very possible, he will have done a more impressive job at UCF than Herman did at Houston. We could do a whole lot worse than Frost.

It’s really incredible some of the crappy coaches some programs have hired.

We should have beat SCar. But they didn’t happen. So you think attendance is a non-issue in relation to revenue? I could agree when talking season ticket sales only. Do you think licensed merchandise sales go up or down during a season dependent upon results?

Not me. I think revenue could take a hit in some areas. Pissed off people spend less. But staff buyouts won't be affected if any coaches are fired now vs the end of the season. And season tix sales, TN Fund contributions and capital gifts will increase once a new hire is made. UT apparently thinks this is a manageable trade-off, at least for now. Otherwise, CBJ will be gone before the next home game.

Forgoing Chip Kelly for Frost is a mistake. And I swear, the most Tennessee thing that could happen is that we hire Frost, Mac leaves UF, and they hire Kelly.

I've been a champion for Chip Kelly for several weeks now but IMO Scott Frost might be better.

Frost just seems like he's headed for Urban Meyer level greatness. I would hate to miss out on him.

I think he'll recruit at a higher level than Chip Kelly and might be just as good a football mind and game manager.

Two wks ago they had 3 freshman on OL that had him off balance but haven't watched them since. It's same with a Guarantano. Can't do crap without help from others. We could put josh Rosen at QB and not score a td with our scheme

Scott Frost seems like a great hire but out of the realistic ones I'm not sure why Mullens not #1.

Widely considered the 2nd best coach in the SEC currently and know the lay of the land as good as you could.

He would have us right there competing for SEC titles every year.

He may not have the ultra elite high end ceiling (not sure) but he is definitely a great coach that would take us to much higher levels.
