I thought the same thing, but someone told me that apparently the assistant coaches do not get along at all, which is causing a lot of toxicity in the locker room as well. He thinks Butch will stay through the Kentucky game, because they may actually have a better chance of winning with Butch than without him.

What a bummer.

Things were so close to being different for Butch. Monumentally different.

wait.. that's easy--- our offense never scored a point. Did you even watch the game? There are half a dozen QB's out there who JG couldn't hold a candle to and they are freshmen or sophomores...

I guess you don't get it man. No QB can beat that defense in this system. We don't even run the routes to attack them at all. We don't run the pass pro to protect the QB. It's not hard to see. Those dudes have better coaches and schemes. He's not playing fast enough YET but he was better this game than last game. And the competition was light years ahead. Shea scored a total of 3 points versus Bama and you dog JG in his second game for not scoring anything with an incompetent coach/OC/O-line. Hell outta here.

Wow, Kelly from Ark is looking really good against AU-- only his second start, and scored a TD last week against Bama in his first start... but breakerboy, JG is better.

The only thing UT has going for them against UK is that UK is sucking just as bad now. Butch's presence gives the edge to UK.

Does he want to hear it all weekend from the alums? Also, I'm convinced Butch wants out. He wanted out last year. Should have been out last year. If your hearts not in it you're going to suck. That's why we suck.

Well that along with him having a subpar football IQ, being a horrible personnel manager, and making poor assistant coach decisions.

Hey, I get it, seriously. we are just missing each other's points. I am not saying He should be playing any better, especially against AL and is handicapped with this horrible coaching staff... what I am saying is there are those on here claiming how good he is going to be and keep making excuses, and I just don't see it and think he is solid, but just an average QB.
I bet we can both agree Butch and Co suck and they needed to go like yesterday!! :p

And I did say our Oline played like scared girls today and the coaching is horrific... No one can deny that!

They're counting on homecoming bringing in alums. They might not be counting on the sour mood of those alums. I could see him being let go before LSU. The wild card is-- I think he's had enough and wants out. His reputation and marketability are taking a beating.

It will be interesting to see what the next week holds.

You know more than I do but I have to imagine they don't want 100+ former football players asking why Butch is still the coach.

We're not going to beat Kentucky or Southern Miss with him anyway.

I think it's clear he's not as invested this year. I'm thinking he hired Sexton to get him as much $$ as possible at a lesser program is an easier conference. Frankly, I think UT hoped that would happen, so we could upgrade without paying a buyout.

People have battered wife syndrome over this guy. He has never won as a head coach, and he basically gave us the Gaulden for USC. EDIT: and he's the reason our program is in the shape that it is right now.

Come on man that was almost 10 years ago. Kiffin has very little of any effect on or current situation.

How's he average and he hasn't had the playcalls to showcase himself? He's shown his tools. If Gary Danielson can see it anybody can see it. He looks like a young QB in his second game. But he's taking care of the ball which is good. Faced Muschamp and Saban in back to back weeks with one turnover combined. That's fine with me. Keep progressing young man better coaching is coming.

Left us high and dry weeks before signing day which caused Hambone to make a panic hire. Said hire couldn’t coach and damn sure couldn’t recruit. Lack of talent on roster caused coaches to turn us down when he was fired.

Thus we end up with Butch Jones

Yeah he owns some blame here

Realistically

Frost
Mullen
Brohm

In that order

I'm good with that. Two step improvement with all three. People are undervaluing Brohm. He's made a bottom feeder competitive of late with team D. The game against Wisconsin was impressive. He will always lag in recruiting at Purdue. But having a shot at a bowl there is almost a miracle. Got a good shot with all of his last 5 games winnable.
