Recruiting Forum: UNofficial Mizzou Pre-Game Thread

I have this camera thing figured out just in time for my upgrade.

Darr played well. Medley kicked that ball out of bounds right after we took the lead. Other than that he had a good game. Medley has the onside kick down. That's not easy.

Noticed you left outlet the rest of the post. Ha! Fair enough. At the end of the day, their domination on the line of scrimmage was the difference.

Medley has a bright future. Can he punt?

He didn't at any of the camps we attended.

You edited the post after I responded. Haha. It really doesn't matter one or the other. They were deserving of the win.

What's up, fellas! Tough loss tonight, but I love how this team never quits. I was pretty upset when we were down 10 with 10 mins left and many fans started leaving. Mass exodus when we went down 16. Very sad! When will our fan base get the Dooley stench out of their system?! This team doesn't quit! Get it through your head and support our team until the final whistle!

Turning point of the game was when we were driving with potential to tie it up with a FG or go ahead with a TD, and Malone didn't catch a catchable ball...INT and then they score with a bomb on 3rd and long. 10-14 point swing. Have to catch that ball.

Our goals are still in sight. We all said we need to get to a bowl. That's still attainable. Let's go to Nashville, smash Vandy, and go bowling. This young team will really benefit from 15 more practices.

Agreed on all points. Hope you enjoyed the game.

Also, loved the energy of this team, and how Maggitt picked up the leadership role. Honestly, I was very concerned after the Vol walk. I was worried we would come out flat after the events of the week, as the team (other than Maggitt) had a different look than past Vol walks this year. This team will be fine next year, and will end up paying dividends having to play all of these FR. Just get to a bowl game!

The results of this team can have many causes behind it, and it isnt a binary picture.

the line is bad
we are young
butches game management needs to improve
so does play calling and offensive scheming
sec officials are flat trash and is the biggest topic no one wants to talk about

we had opportunities to get jobbed in the south carolina game. One call could have completely erased that miraculous comeback. People would say if you deserve to win you shouldent be in that position in the first place. This ignores the fact that games between similar teams often come down to a play or two and officiating has a massive impact. Imagin one personal foul and we dont go to a bowl...

Reciever and OL coaching is another thing that may become an issue. These groups, admitedly undermanned and injured, have not improved.

I dont know how to feel about this program. Theres tons of upside but the possibility of hitting a permenant 7-8 win ceiling is very much real. I do think if we are going to be successful its going to be with a few different names on the staff. Also, it sounds like the media is preparing to fall in love with us which will result in getting more calls to go our way.

the aj deal was more of a problem then ppl are letting on also IMO

We did. Just very disappointed in this fan base.

I was particularly annoyed with the dude sitting to my right who took it upon himself to constantly prompt everyone around him to get loud...did it like it was his job to lecture us...and then left when we went down by 16. Epic Fail.

But dang, these nail biters are hard on a man's emotions. I was nearly to the point that I just wanted it to be over, regardless of the outcome.

Right, but he didn't call offsides until after the review determined there was no illegal touch.

Yes they did call offsides before the review, because I remember the refs saying that Missouri declined the penalty. The guy that I went to the game with and I kept saying that when they overturn the illegal touching, then the penalty would be enforced and we would have to re-kick. Most of the fans did not have a clue when they overturned the illegal touching.

I hear ya...but again, they did a TON of damage with stunts that caught our interior guys out of position/off balance. I think our OL was confused as much as they were over powered tonight.

This is why I think we missed Crowder more than any other last night...

Must have been off TV then, they didn't call it on TV, just illegal touching.

The flag for for offsides was laying on the ground before anyone touched the ball. It was irrelevant until it was decided that we recovered the kick. Herby mentioned it immediately.

No, he's saying the ref didn't mention it in his call.

Ya, it was just bad mechanics by the ref. They are supposed to explain the flag, but at least they didn't make up the offside after.

Still was a terrible call, hundreds of heads have leaned across the line before the kick, it's never ever called.

We didn't deserve to win though, so it doesn't bother me that badly. If that had robbed us of a game we deserved, I'd be livid.

Unfortunately, that's just the kind of luck we are having with the guys in stripes the last few years.

I agree with all of that.
