Everything I am reading lately suggests that if you want to attract the foru and five star kids in mass numbers you have to be seen as an entryway to the NFL. No matter how unrealistic it may be that is what these guys are looking for.
that's how we got all our recruits....we were shuffling players in to the NFL left and right there for a while.....it was't solely because we were in title hunts or games...

I think that he hit the nail on the head. There are many reasons. And, for each player they are differnt. But, I think the #1 reason with 'most' of these big name recuits is the $$$ attached to a the NFL. Plain and simple.

On a side note, did anyone else notice the biggest reason that the latest DE commitment for Ole Miss stated as his reason for choosing them? Because they are so successful at putting defensive lineman into the NFL!! Are you kidding? They must have alot of wool down there at Ole Miss, because they are pulling it over these kids eyes.

I've always found that strange. I've never met anyone from Tampa/St. Pete who would consider themselves from South Florida. I guess they just didn't want to get too creative with the name. They got the location of the University of Central Florida reasonably correct.
