Not that surprising.

The Washington Bullets were renamed because it connoted violence.

I wonder how long before they must renamed again? They are now named after the leaders of the Klan.

I thought the Bullets had the best name in the league..... and the red, white and blue unis were awesome too.
Maybe they’ll take a soccer slant to their name and be called the Washington Welfare

I like the Washington Tanks, I suppose; there are plenty of think tanks in D.C. so you get a little bit of fun (yet not inappropriate) double entendre and I feel this at least helps to appease/smooth things over with fans who feel jilted that their team has fallen victim to a culture war (most of whom would take much less issue with a nickname/mascot relating to the military than any other name you could possibly dream up).
