UCONN is #15 in the D1 rankings right now lol. With three weeks left...so they think that team is going to nosedive to the final regional? D1 seems determined to try and place a Top 20 team in the Knoxville Regional.
I just looked at their conference and they only have 4 teams in the conference this season! I thought something was wrong with the website I was on, but nope sure enough they’ve had 3 teams leave for other conferences. They dropped to 5 teams after realignment but NC Central cut its baseball team, leaving them with 4 teams in the conference. The NCAA requires 6 teams be in a conference but the MEAC was granted a waiver for this season. They will have to expand after this season if they wish to continue receiving an automatic bid. They only have 6 teams remaining in football also. Have to assume that conference will dissolve unless they start pulling some D-II schools.Can I assume a presumed automatic qualifier?

we should expect this. Remember the bracket of death we got last year as a reward for our record breaking season.UCONN is #15 in the D1 rankings right now lol. Here's the formula:
(.7* (Walks + HBP (hit by pitch) + IBB (Intentional Walks)) +.9 * A Single + 1.25* A Double + 1.6* A Triple + 2* Home Runs / Total Plate Appearances= woBA
Example:
Walks: 45 *.7 = 31.5
Singles: 35*.9 = 31.5
Doubles: 30*1.25 = 37.5
Triples: = 1*1.6 = 1.6
Home Runs: 15*2 = 30
Total = 132.1
Formula= 132.1 / 400 = .330 wOBA
- Great: .400 and More
- Good: .371 to .399
- Average: .320 to 3.70
- Bad: .290 to .319
- Terrible: Below 289
The y axis on the left is flipped so up and right are good.Thanks for posting this information. Very interesting. Can you please explain the for and allowed terms given to the axis? That seems to me to indicate they are saying we are way better at offense and way worse at defense/pitching than everyone else. But I know that last part isn't true. So I'm a bit confused by the y axis.
