Thanks for posting this information. Very interesting. Can you please explain the for and allowed terms given to the axis? That seems to me to indicate they are saying we are way better at offense and way worse at defense/pitching than everyone else. But I know that last part isn't true. So I'm a bit confused by the y axis.

When you look at the chart that @mad4vols posted; Tennessee's wOBA (for) is approximately 575 (Vols are really good). Tennessee's wOBA (allowed) is approximately 290 (Vols opponents are really bad).
  • Great: .400 and More
  • Good: .371 to .399
  • Average: .320 to 3.70
  • Bad: .290 to .319
  • Terrible: Below 289

So, it's NOT a positive reflection on our team that we have a wOBA allowed. In other words, you're saying that if we had a really great allowed number, the power T on that chart would be along the bottom line and further right than everyone else?

No, we are the best team on the chart in both categories

The higher up the better your pitching.

The further right the better your hitting.
Putting it simpler; our opponents suck against out pitching, hence a rating below 300 (Y axis).
Vols are awesome against our opponents pitching., hence a rating above 500 (X axis).

We’re really, really good.

very highly doubt that one... 2seed has it made if you ask me in this projection
VT as well. I know Wofford is a good mid-major but it’s still a mid-major as the 2 seed not a team that has spent the majority of the season in the top 15. Keeping it 1/2 way geographically centric, I’d much rather have UConn, Wofford or even FSU. TX Tech is the strongest 2 seed on paper IMO.

Cowboys up next for the Raiders then the Sooners. Not sure being a 2 is in their future

Nice call on Texas Tech....
If they win the OU series they should be in the discussion for hosting. They will be tied for first in the Big 12 with TCU holding the tie-breaker over them. If they sweep OU they’re sole regular season champs. I don’t care if their RPI is in the mid 30’s, a P5 champ, ranked in the top 10 deserves to host. Their schedule is very top and bottom heavy with the latter pulling down their RPI. They tried hard on the OOC scheduling:

Iowa - 3x
Dallas Baptist - 2x
MS State - 2x
Grand Canyon - 2x
Auburn
Arizona
Michigan
OU (mid-week “OOC”)
