Regional Play bergins

They also won 2 of 3 at Oklahoma state. Their resume is plenty worthy

I wonder what it's like to play one school.

I'll grant that as winner of the league and with the win/loss record, they deserve a bid. Not a national seed, but a bid.

I have respect for Indiana playing Stanford, Charleston, Fullerton and Long Beach State. They deserved a bid.

For full disclosure, I think the baseball RPI is a complete joke. Dallas Baptist's only series win worth a crud was against Oral Roberts for crying out loud.

Yea the Dallas baptist rpi and schedule doesn't match at all. Hard to understand

Illinois easily deserved a national seed IMO. I know I will be cheering like hell for them next week assuming chalk this weekend.

I don't know how LSU can have as many top 50 RPI wins as DBU even played and their schedule is 30 places weaker. Hard to believe the bottom teams bring it down that much.

Even Miami finishing with the #1 RPI is confusing. Their 4 toughest series were UVA, FSU, UofL and UF; they lost all 4.

I once saw Edgar Bergen in a regional play at the Barter Theater.
And I've always liked his daughter, Candice Bergen.

Louisville didn't lose a 3 game series in the ACC this season and has an RPI of 13.

I know frye will be devastated if this happens

But today might be the end of the jack leggett era at Clemson. Bunch of rumors that without a huge run he is out at clemson.

As you know, I've NEVER understood the Jack Leggett as genius mystique.

You can write how his season will pay out every year.

The ACC had never been add good add they think it is (1955) Yet he never wins the title.

Clemson baseball = Clemson football

Lots of noise
little results

Except for one exception, his protégés have dissaointed as well.

If he is gone, I'd love top see CU couch those god awful pajamas they call uniforms

Lange for LSU is filthy.

And I think he's a freshman...I'm getting depressed. Watched a lot of baseball today, still watching...CSF pitcher has thrown 146 pitches against a lot of the same players at ASU from a year ago, Lillac, Ybarra....ugh...

Glad to see round 2 of the regionals proved the Big10 doesn't belong on the national stage.

Louisville, ucla, and Vandy flexed their muscles and proved to the committee that if they want competitive entertaining games then the Big10 should return to the laughing stock of a 1-2 bid league.

At least they made it easy to turn off the tube and head to bed early and get some shut eye.

Wouldn't you have to say he has two successful protégés???

He is. I was surprised CSF let their starter throw as long as they did.

I know St. Johns isn't in the Big Ten, but they are another northern school causing problems. They just took a 2-1 lead on Oklahoma St. In the bottom of the 8th.

St. Johns has been good considering geography for decades. They played in Knoxville back in mid-90s regional.

St. Johns and Columbia are in a baseball mad city that produces players and attract players from elsewhere interested in academics. New York is not the depressing upper midwest in February. It's exciting!

I always root for the Johnnies and Fightin' Gehrigs.

In fact, the northeastern schools seem to do better than the upper Midwest schools. Northeastern, Army, Stony Brook, Pitt, St. Johns, Yale, Lehigh, Harvard, Siena, and others have all had more success over the recent decades than almost all Big10 teams.

They travel early to the south, play tough opponents and are stronger for it by the end of the year. It is beneath the Big10 to travel for several weeks as they expect teams to come to their little patch of snowy hell.

Wow, Houston just blew the ULL game.

No run support for their kid throwing the game of his life.

ULL wins on a walkoff HBP.

Houston will have to beat ULL twice if they beat a tough Rice team tonight. that stadium will obviously have a fair share of Owl fans from across town.

Ole Miss was over seeded. They did not play well coming down the stretch. The beat up Miss State but they sucked.

UCSB had no business "hosting" they weren't good enough AND playing 200 miles away is NOT hosting.

Oklahoma State had no business hosting. They were smoke and mirrors and were exposed in a fairly easy draw. Arkansas has it rolling after slow start. Going to Missouri State next week will be a huge deal in Springfield!

What the hell was Indiana doing pitching to Swanson in that situation? They guaranteed the Golden Spikes with that last at bat and play in the field.

Texas sucked. They made it because of the automatic bid. I still think Dallas Baptist takes that region, but they backed themselves in a corner to say the least. If they do win, Miami and their trophies (pre-ACC obviously) come to DBU.

LSU had an easy draw but they deserved it. You can tell Mike Keith volunteered for that ESPN assignment. He always loved going to Red Stick. If ULL wins their region, the biggest party this summer will be in Louisiana- no matter what Bud Light says.

Illinois had the easiest draw due to NCAA's Big10 Affirmative Action program. I'm surprised their opponents uniforms didn't say "Chico's Bail Bonds" on the back. 4 upper Midwest teams in the same region. Nah, nothing suspicious there.

Louisville got the upper Midwest overflow and are cruising.

The Clemson Fighting Genius Leggets were able to try west coast barbq by Saturday night. What did you expect?

I wonder if the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" billboard in Tallahassee has an asterisk to potential Heisman Trophy candidates?

I think the Big10 teams realized they had Day 1 pitching depth but day 3 (even against Big South teams) is a different question.

Damn frye you do realize that we survived Y2k don't you??

Perhaps you should at least take a look at the big10 schools schedules before you make ludicrous statements that might have been true a decade ago but are 100% false now

All 5 big10 teams that made the regionals started the season with 4 week long road trips down south.

Again it's a sign of how change is happening unless you want to burry your head in the sand and listen to your favorite cassette tapes to pass the time
