I would assume so. I doubt that he necessarily knows off the top of his head what his rate was in 2007, for example. But I imagine he could have that checked for him rather easily, which is what he has evidently done, and it was always at least 13 %.

I just interviewed for a position with a Government Contractor. They wanted transcripts, credit info, proof that I was a citizen, and references both personal and professional. Nowhere did they ask for tax returns. Please explain to me why we make such a fuss over tax returns when we have a president that photo-shopped his birth certificate, refuses to release his transcripts, and has the president of Kenya saying he was born there. If Romney didn't pay taxes: 1) he managed to manipulate his income so that he didn't owe any or 2) the IRS is going to be on him like stink on you know what. You can bet your bottom dollar there are plenty of IRS folks combing his returns to see if they can audit him as they stand to be out of a job if he is elected.

My put on this is if I could manipulate my income where I didn't pay taxes, you better believe I would do it. I wouldn't give the government one penny to spend.

The Obama camp is now asking Romney to release 5 years worth of taxes and in exchange they won't attack him on it. I love the smell of desperation in the morning

Does not sound desperate to me.
Team Obama would not have to attack him.on it.
The have the liberal media and the
super pac groups, that they have no control over to do it.

Team Obama and Team Romney both has control of their super pacs. Anyone who thinks differently doesn't live on the real world

The conservative media is following Team Romneys lead.

Why are Romney's returns so important? The only reason that I can think is that the Socialists are looking for ammunition. Why would Romney give it to them. There is nothing to be seen, period. I would be willingly to wager a LARGE sum of money that the first thing the Nobama WH did was pressure the IRS into looking at his returns for evidence of foul play. There obviously is none, therefore, I don't care what he did. I would like to do the same.

Why won't Nobama release a non-photoshopped BC and open his transcripts? Things that actually pertain to being able to qualify for a job.

I just really don't care about Romney's tax returns. It's just all part of a campaign strategy aimed at demonizing Romney for having a brain and doing what anyone else with a brain would do. Give as little to our wasteful government as possible. We all take advantage of every deduction and loophole possible. Change the tax code and this isn't a issue anymore.

I don't want people looking at my taxes. I don't wanna know Romney's. Im concerned about possible outsourcing jobs.

It makes you look shady. He was already fighting an uphill battle on this being a CEO.

If it is not big deal, release them to the public.

Plus, Romney lied about his tax returns before (running for Governor of Massachusetts). No reason to trust him now.

Nor Obama. This whole thing is an abject failure by his campaign and the GOP.

What should be non-issue is killing him.

It doesn't seem to be killing him yet. I would think that most voting Americans could care less about his tax returns.

so what if some jobs were outsourced?

Every time I look at a Target, Staples, Dunkin Donuts, Burger King, etc. I think (at least nowadays) that those are "American jobs for Americans" thanks to Bain Capital.

Yep and the worker may earn enough to buy a few groceries and gas to be able to get to work the next week.

If you think that that is Bain Capital's issue, you obviously DO NOT know how venture capital works.

Here is a primer:
1) You are a company that needs help.
2) You approach me for capital.
3) I say show me a business plan that says I am going to get my money back.
4) You show me the plan.
5) I approve it.
6) You get the money.
7) The VC company at no time "runs" the company. The company runs the company.

Don't confuse VC with a holding company, two different things.
