Relax people

I can't relax. We got skull dragged by OSU during a game where the players seemed disinterested, and coaches had no game plan on either side of the ball. Now our remaining talent is hitting the portal. Will be lucky to win any conference games next year if we don't get some new players from the portal.
We…..
We did our jobs. 36k fans in their stands was beyond impressive.
The team was beat up and didn’t play well but “we” had Jack **** to do with that.

Do you know who they are planning to sign from the portal? Have you had meeting with these departing players and learned the building is in shambles?

Being all pissed off and making stupid statements about coaches not developing players, players hating coaches, how we are gonna suck because one diva WR who could not get on the field this year is leaving makes no sense.
I remember the last two years right after the bball season ended hearing the same stuff about how UT wouldn’t have a team the next year, was behind , etc. just last April, people on here were crying about how we wouldn’t have a bball team, portal players were being snatched up, “something was going on”, etc. Look at the fellas now.

Same will be true for football. These guys thinking the coaching staff is sitting on their hands while their team crumbles are embarrassing themselves. They clearly love panic and drama, and seem to want chaos. There will be no chaos.

people with ties to the NFL have messaged to Heupel, Nico, and Nico’s family that his comp is Jayden Daniels. I’m not saying there will be wholesale changes to the staff but I am saying look for the offense to transform into something different.
Our offense is not going to change to make Nico like Jaden Daniels

Let me see if I am comprehending what the defenders of the portal are saying here.

1) Our offense relies on making instant decisions based on what the defense gives them. It’s more complex than we realize.

2)Our receivers that had been in the system for years apparently sucked at it and will not be a loss.

3)Getting brand new receivers in the portal will fix the issue. They will somehow learn the complex offense in one offseason and be better than anything we had on the field.

And I’ll throw an extra out for an example. Matthew’s this year wasn’t learning the complex offense fast enough because of its design is why he wasn’t getting playing time people cried for, but brand new receivers will pick it up in a few months and be our saviors? Lol. Ok. If you insist.
Hendon picked it up pretty quick, older players understand more about concepts. Maybe it isn't his intelligence of the offense, maybe it is practice habits, maybe he doesn't know how to watch and understand film, or slacks in the weight room.

There are some position coaches that apparently aren't developing players.

Maybe. We will never know since we are not there, we can only speculate.

I would imagine all the coaches have told the OL to knock off the false starts, if the player still does it, it is on the coaches or the player?

Some players are not coachable, you would not know that until they got here

At what point do you hold coaches accountable? We are year 4 and it's pretty darn damning that we have yet to see a player we recruited out of high school get any kind of significant playing even when the starters were performing so poorly. What we had on our OL this year, and all previous years, have been Pruitt recruits and transfers. Where is the development of high school kids? When do you look at the common denominator (Ellarbee) and say someone isn't getting it done? Wouldn't everyone love to have a $900k a year job with no accountability?

We can hold coaches accountable when we have evidence they are the issues. I teust CJH and DW to understand what is happening in the program far more than I can. If they see coaches being an issue then fine, let's get new ones, if they see players being slack asses in the weight room or film room, they let's get new ones.
We still have scholarship issues and mayye we need to spend them on transfers since 95% of freshmen OL cannot compete in the SEC.

Not saying coaches aren't the issue, just need to know all the information before we make speculation. Call it my job that make me think that way, I need to know carry yardage, cover yardages, slopes on the green, wind, lie, temperature before I pick a club or type of shot.

Everyone needs to step back and relax for a moment.

Go back you look at the exact same posts, the exact same "_____needs to be fired" the we are gonna suck posts when almost the entire secondary left last year. They were replaced with better players and the unit much improved.

Sucks when promising players leave, but it was just that "promising" not proven. Maybe practice habits, weight room habits, film study, blocking, or something of the such caused these promising players to not get on the field. We will never know for sure because we are not there in the room.

None of the production that has left cannot be replaced easily. Our guys in the portal are not going to Oregon, OSU, Georgia or any other top team. They are going to Appy State, Maryland, Miss State, Vandy.
Yeah that shows they weren’t any good if they’re going there.

I didn't see disinterested. I saw a semi pro team play their best game since their 2014 natty run. Tenn started a recent walk on at safety. OSU had the AA FR Downs. That's the difference.

Altho your point is validated by Heupel saying it was disappointing for everyone "invested".

The new college NIL norm is going to be torture on fans that do not understand negotiation tactics.

I might be in the minority but I like the NIL. Like everything, there will be adjustments applied but overall I like it.
